I'm a Knight company driver myself, and agree that Knight's a pretty good company to drive for.

I came aboard in 2009, and although there are Knight drivers that will tell you my dispatcher is one most likely to get verbally blasted, it's because of him that I haven't left.

Just to let you know, he's out of the Kent, WA terminal and his initials are DD. Perhaps you've heard of him...:biggrin_25517:

I begin to get routed home right when I ask, I'm fairly compensated, the equipment's mostly less than 2 yrs old and I'm treated good.

If I were forced to complain about something, it'd be the lack of power inverters.

I even carry business cards to hand out if a driver from another company approaches me at a truck stop or other facility.
And truth be told, I don't endorse anything easily.

    Drive safe,

Top catt what do you run for miles normally? I just talked with the recruiter today and set everything up. I hope this pans out better then Millis did. What is running a refer like? Is it hard?

A lot depends on your relationship with your dispatcher/dm, and that takes a little time to build. Once they know that they can count on you and hold up your end then they become more giving and flexible.
They run across a lot of drivers that tell 'them' what they're gonna do and where they're gonna drive.

My advice is to start out by just saying "no problem" or "I'm on my way". If you feel like cussing do it after you talk with them. Then you'll start giving them the impression that you're one of the good ones.

I normally run 2800-3200 miles per week when freight's good.

I ran reefer for another company and it's no harder than running a dry van, except you have to be on the ball more keeping tabs on temps, and the extra 'work' is getting your trailer washed out and fueling the reefer.

    You'll do fine, really.

    Drive safe!

Insurance is pretty good. It's me and my wife and i pay just under $100 a month, think it's around $93 actually.. I've only used the vision part of the insurance, but my wife has used the vision and medical and she says the clinic said cigna was pretty good, i know the vision place i got my eyes checked and glasses at were impressed that my coverage took care of pretty much everything.. with out it i would have been out of $$410, but i only spent $20 out of pocket.

I just completed the basic training with Squire and have 4 more days left with my trainer before I get myt ow truck. So far it has been an up and down experience with them. Not due to my trainer but mostly his DM.M Since I had 5yrs experience writh CR England I was used to this. Other then tuhat my experience with Knight has been good. I am very happy with their training procedures. I would recommend Knight to anyone whise looking to start driving. One piece of advice tho....don't let the DMs at any company run allk over you. If you shiw any signs of weakness...they are like sharks they will pwounce on you for the kill. Stand up to them.
