And the ones spouting stories similar to yours are the ones that didn't have what it takes to make it at Stevens or were such a major screw-up that they got too far behind. NO ONE WANTS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR OWN FAILURE!!!!! It's simply human nature. It takes a REAL man (or woman) to admit that they couldn't hack it!!! Always easier to blame the company. If Stevens is so bad, why do they have drivers that have been with them for 10 yrs, 20 yrs, etc?? Why do they have drivers signing up for their 3rd, 4th, 5th lease?? My hubby and I drive as a team on Alliance, keep our fuel cost at 0-10 cpm, and are doing EXTREMELY WELL!! We don't even run as a FULL team, we typically drive 800-1000 miles per day, then shut down for 6-8hrs. Hubby completed his first lease as a solo driver and did very well at that.
Seems to me the 'crazy' person in this convo is the chidish one that can't admit his screw-ups!!Rif Raf McQ Thanks this. -
I would add his horrible spelling to that list.

Is it worth all of the arguing? At least Dujo and I dropped it when we realized that we wernt going anywhere with the arguing.
Who gives a #### is someone was in the truck before him? If I had a 2012 truck I would call it new as well. If I got a 2012 truck that had 2,000 miles on it, is it not a new truck? Lighten up Francis!
You and truckers woman are too interested in trying to prove someone wrong just as I was doing with Dujo after I listened to someone that didnt know what he was talking about. At least I knew when to stop.
Just let it go.Jarhed1964 Thanks this. -
I worked for Stevens between 1998-2000. Wasn't a bad experience for me. I can't say anything really negative except I had a heck of a time getting back to El Paso in those days. But I prefer the small company I work for now. I route myself, fuel wherever Fleetone is accepted and I don't have to report in constantly. My dispatcher always tells people that she never has to worry about it, just gives me the pickup/delivery info and I take it from there, she doesn't have to babysit me like some of the other drivers who own their own truck, lol!

Thats makes it sooo much easier to get the job done, doesnt it? Its the same with me. Im a grown man, know what I need to do to get the job done and if I dont know about something I ask the owner/dispatcher. No more hand holding. I love it!flightwatch Thanks this.

Yes it does. All I need is my road atlas, my GPS and my smartphone. Between the 3, I get to where I need to go.

Why a joke?, everyone knows they are a training company. I am no big fan of their business model but the unfortunate truth is that most divers starting at Stevens couldn't afford to get a start in driving any other way than to work off the training loan. Stevens as a company has a very successful business, hardly a joke.TRKRSHONEY Thanks this. -
As long as you don't need to make any money, have any time at home, and don't mind sitting in a smelly Tyson(IBP) parking lot for days waiting for your meat load to DLD, Steven's is great. Except for my finishing trainer, who was a pretty nice guy(except that he smelt like hot garbage), Steven's was definitely the worst employment experience of my life. If I was one of the poor ######## who have to stay working for them to pay off their school debt, I'd probably have to kill myself.
Of the dozen people I personally know who work for or have worked for Steven's, not one of them has anything good to say about them.
