Thanks bobbyt, I appreciate the feedback! Unfortunately, my buddy works on service rigs, and I am interested in the trucking side of things 9 I do know that it is a lot more labour then trucking). From what you know, do any of the trucking companies give living allowance, or are that unheard of? Again, I appreciate any feedback.

My question was in response to your post "If in a company paid hotel then there is a meal allowance."... Is that just for training?

Yes, I am clear now. I see that there are differences in subsistence between Rigs & Driving, but still find the trucking side FAR more desirable. Thanks again! -
It's true what ontariodz says but only some of the Trican bases get the northern living allowances naturally, bases south of grande prairie, red earth creek, cold lake get a meal allowance but is 15% lower.

Your question is way too general, there is a great deal involved in frac'ing. They pay well but your gone from home weeks at a time. And every company is looking for workers in Alberta dont let anyone tell you different. Trican, Calfrac, Sanjel, Schlumberger, Gasfrac, there are more companies out there but these are the only ones I deal with and know they need people. Also all the service companies are looking as well. Most will hire green guys and train, some will also pay for your class 1 liscence. Some will fly you back and forth from home or pay for your move.
