You can bet I will remember that, Rick C. I guess that was the purpose of making that an auto-fail. Every time I come to train tracks I will remember failing that first test.
Let's get it started!!!!!

Demolition, I had read some stories about C1 before I went and decided to go anyhow and make the best of it. It really wasn't a bad school. They tried to rush me into testing off the range and the road, but I wouldn't do it until I felt comfortable. Once I had tested off of range, pre-trip, 4 point and had done my coupling they tried to rush me to test off the road and go over the fence (We could see the DMV test site from the range, only a fence divided us) but I wouldn't go because I didn't feel ready. So the put me on the overtime list until I was ready. For 4 days I would stay after class and go driving from 4-6. Then at my request I was taken out on the road the next morning and tested in the afternoon. I say all this to say that unless you are at a really horrible school, it is what you make of it. If you let them rush you through, they will. They make money off each person who comes through, pass or fail. I was there for 3 weeks and 5 days. And it was at 3 weeks and 4 days that I felt comfortable enough to test. And yes, it does feel good having those cdl"s in my pocket. I know that I am still in need of some training, they basically teach you what you need to pass the test. But by passing the test I have proven to be a safe driver who can handle the truck. We drove in New Haven, IN most of the time. Not much going on there! Hardly even any hills. LOL!! Once I get out on the road in "real life" (after company training, of course) I expect to be in alll kinds of new situations. It is at that point that I will get the real test. I actually am fortunate to be teaming with my husband who has been driving for 27 years and he is determined to turn me into a super trucker.
