Hey guys/gals,
Just want to pass on some good info!
DTL Transportation out of Sanford, Fl is hiring.
They are a refrigerated carrier and have several terminals throughout in Sanford, Fl, Miami,FL,Cincinnati Oh, and there is one in South Carolina I believe around Rockhold.
Most of their trips are 5-7 days turnaround. They are in need of Solo and teams. Most runs are Fl throughout East Coast, Ohio, Michigan and Texas. They have just opened dedicated lanes to Cali and Arizona from their Cincinnati terminal and many more. Their equipment is utmost top notch! They run mostly 2012 Cascadia's, KW 660's, Pete's, and some Prostar's and few Volvo's. Most trailers are also 2010-2012's Carriers and Thermokings.
The pay and benefits are good and teams have the opportunity to make really good $$$. They also have many local routes available. Orientation is a quick process so getting going takes no time whatsoever.
You do need a fairly good record and three years experience. If you run second seat team there are some lenient exceptions.
Please call Gina Beemer @ 407-330-9348
Tell her Ben Plante (chompi) referred you.
Thanks guys/gals!

I've herd thats a low paying job 0.32 cpm or something?? Is that true? I know you can't take the truck home so thats a no for me.
-
Depends on your experience. I don't think they have a standard starting pay. I know one thing and that is you never wait around for loads. When you show up to work your load is ready to go and you jump in your truck and take off. Make your delivery and when you are empty you already have a prearranged back haul to pick up. Grab it and come back to the yard. All of their trips are 5-7 days because they all originate out of Florida. When you get home you can run local or take time off until your next run. They do have two new terminals, one in Cincinnati and the other in South Carolina. I was told that the Cincinnati runs go to Cali and AZ. Not quite sure about the South Carolina terminal.
If you are concerned about equipment it is top notch! Mostly 2012 trucks and trailers and a pretty good variety. Carriers and Thermokings for trailers and Pete's, Cascadia's, Prostars, KW's and a few Volvo's. Everything is decked out and even the trailers have chrome trimmed mudflaps. These guys really go all out!

I know a few weeks ago they were advertising on Craigslist pretty hard. Don't know what they pay, but everything else looks pretty good about them. Plus, I don't wanna slam doors

How many days are you home after being gone for 5-7 days?
-
It just depends on what load you get. Most loads go out like Fri and Sat. If you leave out say on Sat in the morning you just roll out and deliver your load, depending on where you are going (most trips are actually only a few days) for instance we'll just say PA. So it will take you roughly two days, you already will have a back load scheduled (usually nearby, they aren't going to send you to Chicago) so you grab the back load and book it back to FL and say you are back Wednesday morning, your next load will leave again on Sat morning so you will have Wed, Thurs, Fri and go back out on Sat. Now you can either take those days off at least to get your 34 or run a short run or most likely if you want you can just work per day doing local, mostly around Central FL for extra money or like I said take those days off.
Nice thing is you get paid hub miles and you get the same rate loaded or empty (Sweet!) . When you run local you get flat rate of $150 per day since you may not run that many miles and are waiting to get loaded or unloaded. When you pick up your normal run on Sat it is all loaded and ready to go so you just jump in the truck and roll! (Sweet, again!)
Make sense?
It really is pretty nice the way they have everything set up!
Can't ask for a better way to run, especially for being out of FL! -
well, that all sounds good, but what about just running local? Is that an option? And there has to be some downside to this company....with all the drivers in Florida looking for work, I would think there would be a line of drivers waiting to work there, if they were as great as you are making it sound. Not saying you are wrong, but it cant be just as easy and cut and dry like you said....or can it? I mean lack of hometime is one of the biggest complaints I hear from other driver I know of in Florida.
