Awesome now I've got to go finish packing and triple check the list to make sure I can't think of anything else I should bring.

Might be able to go out with a trainer for awhile. They might make ya surrender your CDL and start over... Not sure.
dragonrunner Thanks this. -
Just dropping in to say hi..I am still waiting to go in to training... in the mean time I am working with my old company for part of the season...and if luck would have it... I should start my training with prime in July( I can hardly wait!)
I Will pop in from time to time and see how every one is.. and what new topics are up in chat. Look forward to working with you all! Take care and be safe out there.

Have a quick question for all. I got my CDL A around 10 years ago but never really did anything with it. Pretty much chickened out 2 weeks into training because I wasn't ready for the whole lifestyle change, etc. I left on good terms. A friend of mine got his A a few months ago and loves being on the road. I want to get back into it. I know I can handle things now and have been scouring the messages boards. Prime seems like the best of the major carriers at this point. I haven't had to pass a DOT Physical in about 10 years but passed it with flying colors back in Jan. Well BP was around 130 so not the best but well under the limit. I live in Arizona now and even to hold a CDL license you have to keep a current medical card. The obvious question is what do I do? I have a CDL A with no experience...plenty of B driving experience over the years but no A. Will they make me go through the whole training program? I know I know I plan on calling Prime but was just wondering what you all think.

No class A driving experience? I'd say you'll be starting at square one... that's not a bad thing. Driving a straight truck is so different than a combination CMV that you'll be much better off for the experience. Of course, the only way to know is give recruiting a call.

Figure wherever I end up going I'll have to go through their CDL training program which is probably a good thing anyway. I'll call them next week.
