Please keep in mind that not everybody is a good match for every company. Is JCT for everybody? Is lease purchase for everyone? Is truck driving for everyone? No, no, & HELL NO!!!!! We are not gods. We are individuals that either work for, lease onto, or contract to these companies. It doesn't matter how independent you are (own authority, truck, etc.) you must still meet the criteria these companies have in place. After all, you represent them when you are hauling their product. No one wants a bad or negative representative associated with them. Image is an important factor in the business world and we must still conform to certain rules. If anyone has a problem with this, then buy your own country and become the dictator of it and do want you want, when you want, how you want.....then see how long you last before you get overthrown. :biggrin_25519:

true you do have to be at 80k gross...but if you have your tadems slid to florida legal length and your at 44k on them or less...once you cross that last scale you should be able to slide them to legal length in the other states and be legal weight too....I don't work for JCT but uninformed doesn't excuse anyone...

Florida can say all it wants about weight on the tandems, however, you cannot exceed the rated weight for the tires and axles.
Most trailers have tandem 20,000# axles and tires are rated for 24,750 per axle.
I don't think you'll find any fleet trailers with 24,000# axles.

And what does it matter? Like the OP said, once you cross the state line, you need to be legal for the rest of America.

man i was with jct in those "outlaw" days but that was all optional and most times not needed .....ran for six months until i had enough cash to buy a truck outright....never had an issue with dispatch i think i pushed them harder than they did me my biggest issue was the price of a new egr truck did much better with my old century....in all truth when my waiver comes through in july they are on my short list of carriers i am considering now that they take older trucks....

now that i think of it i knew quite a few drivers that rolled their hours and only put in 8.75 hours a day if i remember right they ran you how ever you wanted to run i am sure with eobr's that is a little diffrent now

Yeah, I started with them in the outlaw days but I never found a need to run like that. Made plenty of profit running "pretty legal" :biggrin_25520: Now that we're all on E-Logs, we all run legal and I'm still making $$$$$$. What is nice now is the reduction of the amount of stress we have. Either we can complete a load or we can't. If we can't, they'll swap it off to make OTD. Personally, I don't care if I bump a dock for 6 months......keep on swapping me out and let me stay on the road.

I've been following these JCT posts for some time now, and can say that these things are said about every company...just about. Now, I have done the LP thing with two other companies before. The first one, the only way you could make it was being a trainer all the time. I got out of that one after 3 months. The second one was a company that I ran a year for as a LP operator. However, when I was only $10K away from paying off my truck, they cancelled my contract because I dead-headed home (on my own dime of course,) for a meet up with my new in-laws from out of town. Yes, I had made the arrangements WELL over a month in advance. It wasn't my fault their customer was running behind and couldn't unload me for another day. I told the company I had to go and took the load less than 8 miles to the secured drop yard for relay. I was told later by other drivers that they do this routinely when a driver is close to paying off their truck. Now, you know what they say, "Third time's a charm?" I've done a lot of research about JCT and have two friends that are in the LP program and making a lot of money to support their families.

I'm starting orientation this Sunday at JCT and look forward to putting in the hard work and time away from home that is required to make a good profit in a LP program. I don't mind being OTR for a month or so, so long as I can support my family. The last company I was at as a company driver...well, it put us in the hole so bad with a LOT of sitting and little to no freight to run. So, when I put in 1 year, I called up JCT and here I am. :biggrin_25522:
