If the truck number was 6 digits, then at least at one time, it was a lease truck. Five digits, Prime bought it for company drivers. Not a hard rule, but a guidline.

Both of ya are incorrect. The 5-digit numbers were standard prior to the newer engines - everyone had them company, lease or owner-op. They did have different series groupings for Wiltrans and the owner-op vehicles.

Starting with the 2008/2009 Freightliners that were equipped with DD15s, they added an extra "0" to the serial numbers. So a Cascadia no. 69XXX would have a DD60 engine equipped with a DPF filter, but 600XXX would have a DD15. All of the trucks after that point had the 6-digit serial numbers. It's a CARB thing to help dispatch deal with the changes in technology mandated by California.

And you're incorrect!! 5 digit truck numbers 69499 and under have Series 60 engines, 69500 and up have DD15 engines. The change to 6 digit numbers came to when they got to truck 69999 had to either go back to 60000 or go to 600000.

    Hello,

I'm looking at Prime interested in bringing my wife and two small children. Does anyone know if this is allowed in the lease program at Prime? And how to install restraints systems in the back of truck for carseats?

    Thanks

You can bring your wife... just need to let your FM know so they can get you a release form. I'm not sure about small kids though. I THINK I recall they have to be 12, but I'm not sure about that.
