Yes and thats life, for all species. Survival of the fittest, preditor vs prey etc. Theres alot of good men out there that are nice and respectable/respectful, but theres also alot of guys who are on the flip side of that coin. Some men have more basic instincts and are more predictor like and want quick easy gratification. Be it sex or money etc... If you're a female, and small, at a truck stop you're surrounded by a bunch of men of ALL types that dont get much female interaction. Walking around at night I suggest you do not do. Theres a documentary on youtube i saw and there was a part about this female trucker that had two guys trying to get into her truck (didnt mention if it were truckers or what). Luckily she had a tazer and tazed one of them and knocked the other guy off by driving away. Then again, something can happen to you walking down town in your home city. Just be safe, be smart, i would get a taser and some way to carry a knife of some type, easily accessible, keep a cell phone on you at all times, and be fully aware of your location in case you have to call 911.

Good luck! :biggrin_25519: You'll be fine, just go out there and enjoy it... don't let the little stuff (shippers/receivers/traffic/dumb drivers) get you pissed off...

I think there's a few drivers out there that just wanted to get away from everything/everyday life and are doing it... I'm one of them.

Thats a choice. But also depends on genetics.

Eat light meals, eat healthy. Go for walks. Bring exercise equipment that you could use in you truck. A dumbbell or whatever. Do sit-ups on your bed. Being a trucker doesnt mean you have to be lazy and fat and eat crap.

Some examples of exercising for truckers http://youtu.be/6L-D2gjx1GE

There are lots of good reasons to consider trucking as a career/lifestyle choice. Doing it as a cure for a broken heart isn't one of them IMHO.
