BTW....According to the last Transcore report I heard on Landline Now.....LA-Denver was the best FB rate at ~ $2.50/M.....
So again....Where are all of those $4/m+ loads that run a 1000 miles again?
And HH/OD doesn't count.....Most Ops don't do those......
Hey everyone! Lets all sell are trucks!

With cheap rates being the norm. High rates have to be the exception. So I just wanted to make the point to the people who look at these posts and think, how are these other people getting these high rates. Well either they have great connections or just like to feel good for the moment while their negotiating another cheap rate like everybody else. Ssssssshhhhhhh just don't tell anybody........lol
-
Actually......Rates vary in the different lanes......
Denver outbounds have sucked for years......Best FB rates are about $1.50/m......
LA area outbounds are $2.25/m+........
Running the Northwest for FB.....You are going to the "Tarped Lumber" for a $1/m.....Been that way since '08 in that area.....
The rates won't increase until construction goes back up......That's FB's "Bread and Butter"..... -
Well, I'm on one of these mysterious $3.00+ mile loads right now. u can pm me with your email if you want the proof. 800 miles / $2475. Of course it took me the better part of 3 hours to secure and tarp.... I feel like I earned it. I've also been getting some short haul loads in the $6/mile range. They're usually afternoon or evening coming out of Chicago area ASAP or first thing next morning delivery. 120-180 miles. Those loads are fine, but I think you can get too wrapped up in thinking $/mile. I mean even a 150 mile run @ $6/mile. If I gotta tarp, fight my way through Chicago, run short on sleep, etc... It's a good load, don't get me wrong. But maybe it's not so bad to take a 2-day run paying less where you gross over $1000/day and burn some fuel than sitting all day waiting for that hot load that grosses $900. I'm just saying you have to factor in time as well.camaro68 Thanks this.

You aren't doing those hi $$$ loads every day though.....
I get $6/m OD loads on occasion.....
Most of the loads out of my area run $2.50/m+........camaro68 Thanks this. -
Oh, you're absolutely right. my average is 2.33 right now. this "high dollar" load is going to OK. I'll be doing well to get 1.70 out. I'm not trying to ######## anybody. Just saying if your stuck in the $1.50-$2.00 range maybe somethings wrong because there is better out there.
-
Yep......Sometimes it's better to sit a day or two and get that right rate......

For dry van yes, and sometimes more. Usually on short runs, < 350 miles. But remember, a 200 mile load at $5/m beats a 500 mile load at $2/m every time. At least from the perspective of both the truck owner and the driver that is paid on % of line haul. Drivers that are paid by the mile would prefer longer runs regardless of truck profit.Motownfire, camaro68, rsconsulting and 1 other person Thank this.

I average $1.60 a mile.. The loads my company takes average $2.00 -$2.25 and I get my 75% cut plus fuel surcharge. If any of you are getting the full $2.00 a mile plus you are getting your own loads running under your own rights. If I had the money and the know how I would go out on my own but I also have been told it's tough getting started?
