I'm looking to do long haul for a living and i seen on challengers website the do training for 6 weeks. I'm going to do my Z but do I need to go to a driving school go get my A or do "big name" company's train you for the A. May sound stupid just need some clarification before i start to apply for jobs/school?

At one time they didn't. But times have changed and they pizzed of to many vet's. So I think now is the time for new driver to get there foot in the door. They save big money by hiring new divers. Don't go to a smaller company because there the ones looking for the Vet's. At one time this was the other way around. Strange how it works out.

    QSEWesselius Thanks this.

Maybe because younger people now a days prefer less interaction. I'm just looking for someone to help me get the 2 years experience every respectable well paying job requires. From what I have read on these forums the bigger name company's are becoming more of a stepping stone to get where the vets are. I know the job isnt the most glamorous but from what ive read and what my grandfathers have told me there's a big difference coming out of the gate working long hours/minimum wages and owning your truck and getting first picking hours and loads because of your record and experience and ect. Im looking for a company that will help me with the A training and get me on the road for a future career in long haul.
