Sh**! I guess nothing is going to be ok...

Just got off the phone with the courthouse and I'm not going to even bother getting a copy of the ticket (unless Prime can work some magic) so I guess I won't be going anywhere for at least another year...

What is the problem with getting a copy of the ticket?

Also, why do you need to go through WIA? Are you unable to finance your training at a private school such as Sage? Even if the ticket is an issue for Prime, there's a million other companies out there for you to latch on with if you can get that CDL.

    Moe Rhonic Thanks this.

There's no problem getting a copy of the ticket, but rather what is *on* the ticket, so I know it's a no go with Prime right now. Yeah, I have to go through WIA since although still technically 'employed" I haven't been getting more than a few hours a month for almost 4 months now, so technically "laid off" and I have no money.

My WIA funding, at last contact, was "frozen" and the earliest I could count on getting it, is when their new fiscal year begins July 1st. I may still take advantage of this simply because of all the windmills I had to battle to get here, and then, if I still can't find a driving job--even just something local delivery type, and have to go through re-training a year from now, I figure it'll just make me a better truck driver when I do get out there!

Though honestly, if I do go through a commercial TDS, now and/or a year from now, I won't be going with Prime--I only contacted them due to their company-sponsored training since my funding was frozen. If I go it on my own, I'll be calling the Great Pumpkin...

To clarify further, I'm trying to maintain an outlook, of something I've read here time and time again, to the effect of "there's more than one way" with regards to getting into trucking. That is, I don't have to go through the BFIs, I don't have to do anything "the normal way", so I'm just going to do all that I can, and keep my eyes and mind open for any opportunities that will get me that much closer to my dream of going OTR.

I was just wondering if you can't just get a school loan to pay for training and work part-time jobs while training?

There's no need for that. Once I get my WIA funding, I'm already set up with a school to go to. I was only trying to get into Prime, due to the delay in the WIA funding. As for Prime, I just got off the phone and, as expected, it's a nogo. They're really strict on this but she did say that 06-25-2013 I'd be welcome to reapply...

    When one door closes...

I woke up today to two voicemail messages. The first one was from my WIA counselor asking me to call her. The second was from the woman from my TDS telling me she had gotten a call from my WIA counselor and that my voucher is ready for me to start school on the 18th.

Called back my counselor and have a 1300 appointment tomorrow to get my voucher (2nd verse?) and then a 1000 appointment on Friday at the school...

Even though I know my prospects are limited, even once (if) I get my CDL, I'm gonna try to keep a positive outlook and just see what happens...

Pam hasnt black listed Illinois resident's. Illinois and nevada have screwed up licensing requirements, so those residents have to get a cdl in those states before going to a training company. Pam on the other hand is hiring new driver 's from Illinois. Im from Springfield,Il and start school the 25th of this month at Premier which is a school that is in with Drivers solution's. I do believe this is a new deal, the recruiter from Premier said he's only been working with P.A.M for about 3 week's.
