so look for ET and cracks on pirate sites... IMO, for CAT it is mistake. Who wants will find all, but will not pay to CAT

Thats right, CAT will only sell ET to dealers and fleets of more than 10 trucks.

i wouldn't trust any pirate sites,if there was any problems with software who do you go back to after they have your money.Maybe Mr. Haney can help.

Yes you need to talk to Mr. Hanney he might not can help you find a ET program but I know he can do whatever you need to your ECM to satisfy you. IF your wanting a good program just to troubleshoot and diagnose engine problems I would by a pro link from snap on its for heavy duty applications and it works good on the cat engines for engine testing and troubleshooting but it will not tune or uprate a cat Engine you need Mr Haney for those tuning needs.

I have a problem with this and its NOT Cat but the dealers as they drive it!!
The problem is if they sell it to Mr Joe Blow the Mechanic they get the $$$ and they get to set his Access level so they have some control. But they feel Mr Joe Blow the Mechanic will take work and ultimately $$$ money from the CAT Dealers.
However as they dont sell ET or the Communication adaptors to Mr. Joe Blow the mechanic He surfs the Internet and buys not only the Communication Adaptor from China but the Software with a higher access level than the CAT dealers have!!! And at ½ the price I might add!
The way I see it Cat in USA not only lost the $$$$ from the Hardware and software sales they now have no control on the user level and Mr Joe Blow the Mechanic can do more than the Dealer technicians as he has a Higher level.
I read a letter from CAT USA some years back and they didnt want to go to annual Licensing either but the dealers insisted.. Cat indicated in their opinion that it would encourage Piracy and it looks like they were right. Now they are losing $$$ and their edge. Such a simple situation, yet controlled by some University educated engineer who has a degree but no common sense.
Did someone say there was a Recession in USA???????????
From where I sit I think the shipping ports in USA are 90% incoming from China and 10% outgoing from USA.. Hell just go look at Walmart. LOL Doesn't all make for good local employment but then again I guess lots of Truckers are carting Chinese manufactured goods from the warf?underpsi Thanks this. -
What about the aftermarket plug and play modules. For the lighter duty cummins, they bypass the ECM alltogether and allow of more power and increase mpg without voiding any warranties with plug and play technology. Does anyone have any experience using these? Is there anything for the big rigs?

Pittsburg power box but I don't recommend it. There are a few others but non run as cool/smooth as a tuned ECM. The Pittsburgh box is almost identical to the TST box for a Dodge pickup. Hot, smokey, sometimes violent fueling. Where a custom ECM tune is cool, smooth and actual useable power. If your worried about a warranty buy a spare ECM.
I know guys with PP boxes and they can't "work" the truck on anything over level 3 without it getting hot. Maxed out they're supposed to be 200hp. Several places can give you the same 200hp and you can hold it to the floor and the EGT's stay low and no smoke.landlord Thanks this. -

I looked on a lot of forums for an activation for cat et 2012b, but I never did get a activation or solution on how to activate/register it, I eventually folded and paid a installer $250 to install and activate 2012b no problems so far.
