Wondering if any drivers know of any small company's that will hire drivers out of Baltimore or Raleigh, NC area due to a 15 and over speeding ticket I got last thanksgiving in my car at the time I was not a CDL holder and yes I know it doesn't matter just wanted to clarify. Long story short former driver came off the road now back in CDL school again for refresher and looking to go back out. I was thing maybe a owner operator will pick me up for a year or two until it drops off. I mean it this point I will take yard jockey anything just to get some wheel time untill it falls of my MVR they are treating me like I am a felon.

Over 15 over, serious offense and a BIG no-no in this biz. But keep looking, you may have to settle for a low grade company with junk equipment and iffy paychecks.

You can try Debris Removal Partners (who also operate under the names Shotwell Trucking and Capitol Waste Systems) in Raleigh... if you're coming from Raleigh, take Martin Luther King to Garner Road.. turn whichever way you have to turn to go east on Garner Road... just after you go under the I40 underpass, you'll see a 15 yard container which says "Capitol Waste Systems" on it. I filled out my application, and they asked me if I wanted to work that day. I said yes, they handed me the keys, and I was on my way. I can't make any promises. Perhaps once that ticket comes off your three year report, then I can point you someplace better in Raleigh.
Don't hold your breath waiting for an O/O or small fleet owner to pick you up.... with a ticket like that in the last three years, you're not likely to find one willing to pay the premiums the insurance company will expect them to pay if they hire you on.

Thanks WitchingHour my girlfriend lives in Raleigh I am currently in Baltimore Area looking to relocate after school in September, but since my little issue last year my chances of relocating are cut short until I find stable work at least. I have been working for a security company for the past three years in Washington dc so I am employed just need to get back out there and relocate to NC but this economy is not helping things. I don't know what I was thinking last year

You've got to get out there and knock on some doors. That way you'll find out yourself and you might get a decent break.

Talking to my insurance agent today.

You will want to find a carrier with 15 or more trucks. They only are required to report number of units on the the road, not necessarily the actual driver. At which point it becomes more of a company decision.

Umm Interesting I never knew that ok I will keep that in mind I would have thought the complete opposite since the larger company would have more risk due to the number of units on the road and would be more unwilling to hire a driver with issues but I will keep that under my hat

    It makes sense to me.

Your driver pool is going to more follow the typical statistical bell curve the more drivers you have. Making it easy to say "you will have 'x' claims in a year"

I spoke with a US Express recruiter that came out to our school and she said that they would take me with a 15 over but I have not heard anything back from them yet so sill looking for a job. No one will hire me with my three tickets so mad I should have went into HVAC I had no idea that the industry had changed so much

So you got three tickets on your record? On of which is a fifteen over?
