I used to drive for Werner a few years ago and have been out of it for a while and decided to call them up to see about going back there again and put in the pre app and was accepted to return to the company as a driver without having to go back through the whole company school/orientation thing, Id just go out with a trainer for 120 hours and then be assigned my truck as a solo driver (I can't stand being a team driver) anyway,
I Just got off the phone with Werner and its is sounding like the company has turned into a complete joke :biggrin_25516:.
I live in the northeast and was asking about there regional opportunities and they told me that northeast regional runs all up and down the east coast.
How can that be considered northeast regional?
I thought that each region has there own lanes and running area :biggrin_2551:.
Also, I know of very few companies out there that keep regional drivers out for 3 to 4 weeks at a time like Werner claims to.
Am i missing something here or has Werner essentially turned the regional runs into OTR???
Just looking for some insight into this situation!

The problem is that you say northeast, and they hear north east. To you that is the northeast part of the country, to them that is anywhere in the country that is north, or is east.

I just left them after over four years there, and it is no more a joke now than it was when I started. I ran dedicated with them don't have any real big complaints, but I do not think I would ever really consider going back unless it was a last resort. They really do not care at all about the driver, but if you get in and find the right FM, you can make it work for you as long as you do not set real high expectations.
