Well I'm heading to day two of orientation... Hopefully I'll get a trailer tomorrow of over the weekend and be ready to haul some freight by Monday... I've been very impressed by landstar thusfar.

I don't know you but there used to know a guy who had a saying. "If you try you might (succeed), if you don't then you know you won't (succeed)." Sometimes you just have to take a leap of faith. Any time you have an opportunity two things can happen. You can fail or you can succeed. What is the worst thing that can happen? You could lose everything and ruin your credit. If you succeed then you will have realized your dream. If something has been your dream then you will never know if it can become reality unless you try. Everyone fails at some time. Those who have achieved the greatest success have likely failed the most. The difference between failure and success is often the guy who succeeds never gave up.

If you are willing to work, have a decent knowledge of the industry, have some finances put aside, can do at least minimal work to your truck....then you can realize your dream. One thing about living your dream, you will work harder to make it work out so the dream can continue then someone who just thinks they are making a smart financial descion by getting their own truck.

The more I read these forums the more I want to do it and I probably will. I go Friday to look at a truck and if it runs out and nothing is wrong I will be putting a deposit on it. I want to thank all you for your input it has given me some different ways to look at the process.

The guys that have been around for a while get the new Revolution 52's. There is a waiting list on them. You'll get stuck with a steel stepdeck for a while, which makes you heavy. You're better off leasing a trailer from someone else for a while or just buying your own used one.
