check for TCU voltage supply. They used European control unit (for 24V truck) and they installed 12 to 24 voltage converter (it is a box on tranny), this voltage converter is a weak point

I think it is the voltage doubler, I checked the voltage going in at 12.6 v coming out is 0. I am waiting for the part to come, once it is

. Do they use voltage doubler in manual transmission.

No, solenoids they use work fine from 9v to 33V. Only with ZF freedom/Astronic.

Really these voltage doublers are made with old technology, too big, too heavy and not reliable. Now I use voltage convertors from US truck to US trailer EBS power supply conversion kits.

Thanks for the help Pablo, it was the voltage double, the dealer wanted to put the ecm first, then voltage double, I told him to put the voltage doubler first, as they put it, i turned the key on and there I had power to transmission and saved 1200 on the ecm that was not needed. The speed sensor use 24 volts, as well, so that was why the vehicle ecm was giving me the code, for the speed sensor.

    Thanks everyone and this forum.

one more bad quation for dealer.... why not to follow TCU power supply test procedure before changing any unit.

This procedure is provided by ZF for every on 12V truck transmission setup for US and European dealers. According this procedure first of all mechanic checks for doubler supply with 20 A load (we use high beam bulb), after that the same procedure for doubler output. All diagrams and procedures are in open access (no login) of ZF portal.

Volvo manual says to check TCU power supply with any Volvo, ZF and Alisson transmission. And there are recomendations to use component maker's manual too.

Volvo wants every mechanic think, not to be a dumb parts changer.
