again. you miss took my sarcasm.

hi, i'm snowwy, i'm an o/o, i pull flatbed and tank.

    NICKLEBACK WAS A BLAST.

and it turns out there's a concert tonight at the elko jamboree. warrant is the opening act. skid row is the main attration. and since i renewed my license, and for some idiotic reason never bothered to stick it back in my wallet. left it sitting in the car. everyone else has to buy my alcohol. good thing it's a every 5 years deal.

Couldn't make Nickleback in KY couple weeks ago. But wife got me tickets to Chicago last Wed night. I'm 44 and was one of the youngest people at the show. But what a show they still put on.

Solid State Drive- hard drive with no moving parts more like the RAM you're used to= very cool and somewhat expensive originally but have come down in price dramatically lately as most PC parts eventually do.

Sounds more like some personal disease, though- LOL

So the SSD is a plug in device instead of an installed device? Am I using the terminology correctly?

ssd is the new hard derive. the spinning platform is longer the only game in town.

both of which plug into your computer. and act as the brain that stores all the information.

the ssd is a silicone wafer. it has no moving components. it won't break like a conventional hard drive with spinning platters. it can also perform faster. but it won't last as long. they can read abd write information so many times. before tehy are worn out.

so, either hard drive has there pluses and minuses

Press a button and in less than 30-seconds all is ready. And I will replace this machine long before I ever have to worry about it "wearing out". Plus it is only 120G so as prices drop I will likely put larger one in. This new dell can only accept a single drive. That surprised me. But when I get to the point the I need to start doing video editing I will stick another SSD externally via e-sata that this has.

But in terms of durability and functionality in a truck - SSD is the only way to go. ie. - no crashes.
