Olymel in Red Deer the pick up yard is across the street. Talked to a couple current drivers and a ex driver, they have never had to pick up a trailer in a area shared with a cattle truck the areas are separated, if they thought it might be dirty they just moved to a area that wasn't.

Never seen the yard goat hook up to a livestock trailer. I hauled hundreds of loads out of red deer when I worked with vanalta (Luke's) and many out of Brandon (fastrax) and brooks (transx) and never had any problems. with your thinking of airborne stuff on tires then no where is safe. All public roads have pig trucks, all truck stop have them. You'll never be safe. Don't worry about the small stuff.
disorder Thanks this. -
Disorder, when I was with vanalta, we picked up the loaded tlrs in the olymel yard. Where the new part of the building is now. Luke's had the building across the street and stored the empty tlrs there.

You could move the trailer anywhere-if it has been driven through contaminated ground, contaminated particles are going to be on the underside of it, on tires, etc. But if you think pig crap is so safe, get some fresh stuff and fertilize your vegetable garden with it. Then you can post more when you get out of the hospital.

you show me a area, be it a feed lot, truck stop, trucking yard, or wherever that does not have any contaminates and then I will get on a soapbox and start preaching. It is what it is. Use common sense, if your in a mud hole or manure slop, MOVE. Go wash your trailor becore you inspect it, It's that simple. If your still concerned find a job that doesn't go to these places. find a job that is contaminate free. Even hospitals have contaminates so good luck.

I'd rather lie in a hog lot anyday before I lie on the pavement in some of these truckstops.
Oh, and BTW, I lived on a hog farm for 24 years, never had a problem. -
In five years of hauling pork regularly I have never once laid down under a trailer where there was any pig crap or heard of anyone else having to.
Anyway, if any one was at risk of disease it would be the livestock guys surely? -
Practice on the above post. Hold your breath while reading it......ALL OF IT.... with no paragraphs and by the time you're done that's how long a brake check would take you. lol -
