Truck Stop Harrassment

I'm glad I went back up 83 and hit 81 parked at hagerstown, was 50 more miles on my trip but beat going through them state roads.

Worst place would have to be jessup md or the only truckstop in toad island.
Bought fuel at TA jessup and spent 17 dollars eating prick at the booth said it wasn't enough.
I cut my truck off at booth to leave and went inside and spent another 5 dollars in store.
I called the road king toll free number and the jessup manager was appolizing and told me next time to get him.
Now toad island is just a rip off, their sign lead me beleive I could park free if I filled up which I did. My truck only has a 40 gal tank.
I also ate in their resturant and paid to bathe in oily feeling water. Then this toad islander there wanted me to pay 10.00 to park?
I explained sign and way I took it's meaning. I went ahead and paid after realizing TI is full of idiot's.
Now when I go through and stop I park at island to go to rest room tell them my company said there not on the fueling list, park out front as long as I can free and leave.

 

Other people have air horns too. Now go to sleep.

there are all the truckstops in gary and lake station,the pilot at exit 2 before gary, the big fishing joint cabela,s, the t/a and pilot at hampshire on i-90,then ya got minooka pilot, minooka citgo, the t/a in morris and the marathon in morris, then the pilot and petro in monee, then on 55 boilingbrook and and a little further in channahon.

or in your case any rv park.

 

Day wolf, u sure that guy wasn't just some bum trying to make a buck by harassing truckers? Wouldn't surprise me in the least bit. Hell, try parking your rig at a hotel in New Orleans. You WILL pay night security $20 or u won't have a truck come morning lol

What some ppl won't do to get money out of the drivers.It's pretty pathetic.This was clearly harrassment.One day that guy will harrass the wrong trucker and I would love to be a fly on the wall when that happens.

 

There are plenty of truckstops at the WI line and further north. There are all kinds of truckstops east and west of Chicago. Plan your trips better. Hogging up the parking spots in the oasis is just plain rude. Don't ##### at me if you wake up and find my truck blocking you in when I run inside to use the bathroom... lol

 

pattyj, you must have missed the part about this is a diner and not a truckstop. to pay ten bucks and get a card worth 10 bucks is being harassed? come on.

The pilot in monee is small but I usually find a couple spots there. But it's the ones directly beside the scale. I have yet to figure out how to back in without hopping the curb by the scale. It's tight. I dont think I've ever been lucky enough to get a spot in another area of that pilot. Come to think about it I think I always end up in the same spot. Guess I'm the only one stupid enough to back into it. Not counting bobtailers

Plan the trips according to maximizing your hours.
Wisconsin truckstops are a long way out of route for many who come up 55 or 57.

I think it is good that they get off the road and pathetic for someone to be upset about this.

I guess when your truck is parked and they want the spot it is in, then they can be upset and whine like a spoiled child about this.
