I have been through, MS Carriers, CR England, Stevension, Swift and now Werner. I could write a book about all of these companies but you can just read the other post. Werner is not the best but they are good. I am a company driver who goes solo. The DO NOT try to get me to lease a truck, I get plenty of miles USA & Canada. When my truck needs service they are on top of it and it get taken care of. The pay is not great and this would be the reason if I leave.

All of you who stay with trucking shoulkd stick together and try to raise the pay for all of us. There is NO reason that the pay is so low in this industry except we do not band together to improve this. The trucking companies CAN afford to pay more but they don't because nobody wants to get together and demand higher pay.

We all have to start somewhere. You're paying your dues now with bad companies.I too drove for Werner.I agree, the pay is bad for the drivers.Guess they think driving a big rig is a sinch.Which may be true but it's all the other crap we have to put up with that deserves a far better pay.Only way to receive better pay is maybe a bullhauler, hauling oversize or supersize loads. But hauling general freight, the pay will always be low no matter who you drive for.

starter companys like those (and mine) pay low because they hire wildcards by the masses some wildcards(new drivers) end up rolling the truck, abandoning truck, caught smuggling illegals...the list goes on and on......AND ON.for that reason i believe starter companys will always pay LOW... the way i look at it they got my foot in the door, im getting paid and getting experience with solid equipment

It's not just starter companies, all companies that haul general freight pays low. That's just how trucking is.But many of the companies that do require exp do have the miles though just not the best pay.

Not meaning any harm in my answer but...

Hasn't that already been done? Union is what I think it's called. Teamsters?

Ok no the smart @__ is out of the way.

I agree but it would take a union. Votes for what the majority want and the "leaders" to talk with company about getting it done. No way an unorganized group will ever come to a consensus on what exactly to fight for and if they did then they have to agree on how far to go and details of demands.

Teamsters do this already. So either pull them into your company or go work where they are. Between the teamsters and the companies no one will ever be able to organize another trucking union.

I say all this but I am not a union man nor will I ever be if I can help it.

Sent from somewhere out there on the road.

3 years experience and you drove for MS Carriers? How is that possible? Swift bought them a lot more than 3 years ago...

He might had to take a break between, since he had so much fun with all of them. It's like me. I have been driving for over 20 years, but right now I have to do a refresher or hire on as a newbie since I have no DAC verifying my driving for the last couple of years.
