I am an ex-trucker with 4 years of experience (2003 - 2007). I have a recent felony that i got over a year ago and i am getting tired of working these minimum wage jobs and would like to get back into trucking and make some real money. Anyone out there in la la land could give an ex-trucker some advice about who will hire a convicted ex-trucker?

Buy your own authority and hire yourself. I'm saving you the trouble of the lynch mob that will give out worthless opinions.
I was told this once there's two kinds of people in this world the caught and uncaught, you are a member of the caught now.
Personally I wouldn't let a felony affect if i'd hire someone or not unless it was a disqaulifying one. -
I thought of that, tried to get lending, but could not because my financial problems exceed my budget. Like a dumb redneck who owes a taxidermist more than his annual income.

Lending for a truck is hard to get anyway. Scale your plan back and relook at it, there's always options if you think outside the box.
Get you a 3500 series truck and do the hotshot thing those can be finanaced easier, pull rv's and you don't need a trailer. Money won't be as good as if you have a trailer. Road medic could tell you about that.Last edited by a moderator: Jun 18, 2012
Lonesome Thanks this. -
I'm going to weight these options carefully before i jump headlong into it. I do not need something cropping up near the last minute to throw a monkeywrench into the works. Besides, i also found out that i can get the felony expunged after 5 years, but i need money to have that happen.

If you cant get your own truck and authority.... Next best thing is find a Small "Mom-Pop" company to run for..... Usually they only care about you meeting Insurance reqs and clean drug test.... Good Luck..

One thing with the hotshot, many want you to be available for Canada. Don't think you're eligible.

What kind of felony was it?Everybody makes mistaks and learns from them but when it comes to trucking, you may have a long road ahead trying to find a company that'll hire you.As long as you can still remember how to drive, you might wanna look into smaller companies.

smaller companiest are the way to go,.
as for expungment. it don't take but one benjamin. just have to wait 5 years. theres no lawyer involved. you do it all by yourself. -
Laughable!
