They do a $59 per day. Maverick maverick uses whatever the IRS amount is for that year. Has been that way since 07 when I started with them.

I will be hopefully driving for Maverick very soon on the southeast regional section. I drove big trucks over 12 years ago for several other companies, and had to get off the road because my daughter was having major seizure attacks. So I took on a job on the other side of the trucking industry. I worked for a diesel mechanics shop in Florida for about 8 years, then moved up here to Georgia north of Atlanta. I have been talking to a recruiter names Mason, who has been extremely helpful for me and from my understanding, my orientation date is coming up very close. I am looking forward to working for Maverick, and meeting all you Maverick (and other drivers) out on the road. My handle on the radio used to be Gambler. Don't know if it's still available, but anyway that's what I answer to. Good luck all you drivers and safe travels.

    electraglidepi,

they will tell you in orientation there is no "south east regional".....the instructor will tell you they run east of i35...from texas stright up to the canada border east....thats the "southeastern region"...they call it u.s. division....you will go to ny....dont get me wrong...maverick is a hell of a good comapny to work for...but there recruiting tactics need to be ....improved...there is no sign on bonus...they told us that when we got our 50 dollars and tell you....heres your sign on bonus....:) this actually happend to me and my class...they will also tell you they do not care what you have learned in your previous emplyment company or school....this was told to us within the first week...also they say you wont need a haz mat....wrong.......during securement training you will have to take a haz mat test....if you dont pass it...you have to return to nlr to retake it....also if your taking the bus...drink plenty of water...if they detect the slightest amount of blood in your sample...you will be sent home...its due to how rough the bus ride is....if you have any questions...ask them...no matter what you may think....

Uh,no you dont need a hazmat. Been here 9yrs and never taken any hazmat test. They may ask you to review hazmat or something but you dont need a hazmat endorsement. Yes they do have a sign in bonus, periodically. If you didnt get one then its because you didnt hire in when they were giving one. The way it usually works is you get the bonus after some period of time of employment. Giving you the bonus right after orientation would just allow the unscrupulous types to quit after collecting their bonus for zero work. If you have blood in your urine after a bus ride then truckin wont solve that problem. I however doubt a "rough bus ride" would cause that issue.

there is a haz mat test in orientation, and if you fail it, you get it again at the "eval out" phase, I was in the first group to get hit with it, it generally deals with placard markings/colors. BUT, as stated above, your not required to have a endorsement on your cdl. Maverick doesn't pay extra for haz mat loads, so why bother jumping through the hoops for the endorsement.

OK so study up on Haz Mat.. Check.. Southeast region is actually US region.. Check. No need for hazmat endorsement.. Check (even though I already have hazmat endorsement).. Will go to New York.. Check.. I love New York.. Its all good. I'm just glad that I have found a company where you don't hear too much (if any) bashing the company. Really all I am hearing about Maverick is all good. So still looking forward to orientation . I'm just glad to get back on the road after soo long out of the industry. All you drivers out there, keep putting those miles on those Freight-shakers, and who knows, I might buy you a cup of coffee someday.. TC and be safe.....

Most likely they arent going to install one for you because you will either be issued a Cascadia which already has an inverter or you will be issued a 2007 which you shouldnt have more than 6mos supposedly.
