Today was our last day of class. Tomorrow we'll be at the DPS all dang day.

I thought this school was great.
6 weeks long, with both day and night training. A big yard to get used to shifting & plenty of space for different scenarios to practice.
When we started there was a DOT funded grant available. Being a Texas vet, I used the Hazelwood Act to pay for mine. The GI Bill wasn't accepted for this course since this school has it as continuing education credits. But any vet who kept Texas as their home of record can use the Hazelwood =)
Should also be able to use financial aid to cover most of the class.
Steven's also trains on the campus. Feel sorry for them. I do.

Started off with a couple of weeks of classroom work. Lots of videos and quizzes to get us ready to take all the written tests. A couple of days are built into the schedule to allow everyone to sit around the DPS all day.

We started our road training at night. Less traffic to deal with. We all liked it because we were a little nervous the first few nights on the road. 2 weeks of nights, then back to days so we could experience Houston driving at its worst. lol

But most of our driving routes were around commercial / industrial areas around the airport and getting on and off the freeway.

We had several different instructors, so while they all taught the same thing, we still learned a little more from each trainer.

The only thing I didn't like here was being required to buy a uniform shirt from the slowest laziest store I've ever been to.
$19 for a dickey shirt with a patch on it. And it took them almost 3 weeks to get the patches sewn on. wtf?
Buy a shirt off one of the graduating students.

And if Todd is your instructor, give him a little #### from time to time. ^_^
A pain in the ### redhead told you to.
