    Hi Drivers

I am trying to get on with gemini transport out of ormond beach fl to haul fuel. Does anybody drive for them? My driving record is pretty clean with only 1 speeding ticket out of CA..(the commercial ticket facility of america). I dont know how my csa score is..Any info on how to get on is appreciated.. They say its pretty hard to get in with this company and it pays to make some inside connections..Is this true? I have been OTR for 4 1/2 years, dependable, clean criminal record.just trying to stay closer to family two little ones at home. Any info is greatly appreciated..

    THX

How long have you hauled fuel? If less than a year you probably wont get hired there. Usually have to do your time at one of the hack companies before Loves or KAG will hire you. Good luck.

I work for Gemini and can tell you that it really depends on the regional manager in that area as to whether they will hire you without any fuel hauling experience. I was hired with Gemini with no fuel hiring experience and was green fresh out of driving school. I had 3 weeks OTR experience when I got on with Gemini. It was very much a case of being in the right place at the right time for me. The regional manager was willing to give me a chance and it has payed off for both me and Gemini. It is true that it isn't easy getting on with Gemini and it does help knowing someone who already works for them and can refer you. Gemini does an extensive background investigation which includes criminal, MVR and past employment. Once you are on though, you can write your own ticket after you have gained some experience. I love working for Gemini and they have taken really good care of me. I'm actually currently on medical leave with my 2 1/2 year old son being treated for cancer and Gemini has been awesome through all of it. I had no problem getting approved for 6 months medical leave and they have respected my time with my family while we go through this. Gemini is very family friendly and will go above and beyond to help their employees in any way they can. So in a nut shell if you get the opportunity to work for them, jump on it and don't look back. Keep us posted!

Jnxx, first off, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I hope your son makes a complete recovery.
It seems almost impossible to get in contact with anybody at the main terminal. As far as my background, I'm straight as an arrow. Only have one ticket in 4 1/2 yrs Otr. And it was in CA (ticket capital of the USA). Anyhow, what type of schedule do they run. And is the money pretty good. Any info would be great, I have applied already but i feel if they meet me in person they might give me a chance. Thx for the reply and once again I will keep ur son in my prayers.

    Shizdrade,

Not sure how it works down there, but up here the new driver, bottom man, works Thur. Fri. Sat. Sun. on nights. 3pm to 3am or something like that. They opened a new store here and offered me that job, I passed. They have 3 drivers operating 1 truck, 24/7 year round.

Their drivers say they are a great company, I just didnt want that shift ....

    WideSkyND and Shizdrade Thank this.

It really depends on what area you are in as to how the shifts run. The team I'm on all work five days a week. It is normal for the new person to work nights due to the day shifts usually being occupied by the more senior drivers. I work nights from 3PM to 3AM. It's actually from 3PM to when I finish my loads for the shift which hardly ever takes me till 3AM. Usually around 1 or 2 and I'm done. Different areas run different shifts and run their trucks differently. A big part of that is what the regional manager wants in that area.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers, my family really appreciates all the prayers and kind words we have received.

This may sound strange but you may have the most luck getting in touch with a regional manager by hanging out at one of the Loves and wait till a Gemini driver arrives to make a fuel delivery. It may be a couple hour wait but can work to your advantage because you can strike up a conversation with him or her and see if they can put you in contact with the regional manager. Offer to put them on your application as the person to refer you so they can get the bonus if you are hired. They will probably be more likely to put you in touch with the regional manager that way. Also find out what they are hiring for in that area and how many stores they service. That would be the best way to get yourself noticed and make some ground with your application.

The money is good working for Gemini and the benefits are excellent. I myself make right around 65k a year. We are paid by load and the load pay is determined by the driving distance to the drop. One day I may make 260.00 with three loads and the next day make roughly the same with one load due to the distance.

Let me know if there are any other questions and keeping pushing for that interview!
