Stevens Transport

well you have said what you make and what days you work but you have not said who you work for now????? and Walmart is the only place that i Know of that a companey driver can make over 100k a year...and i also dont know of any 1 that requires to have 5 years xp...outher then dirt trucks??

 

the 2 drivers that i know that work for them realy like it..make over a 100k a year..but thay also say that walmart is prity unforgiving if you mess up..

Hey Tlea i can see why you would think that was pointed at you and i do see that you were the ONLY 1 that was backing me up on both the trans flow post and the truck payment post..and i do appreciate you valadating thos for me... so i am sorry if i came off as jerk to you... i just get a lil defensive when i am realy trying NOT to overexaggerate and i have people talking smack to me trying to discreadit me

I just like to see honest information posted, good and bad. I could see the problem on the truck payment, total weekly fixed costs.

And over in the aviary another driver had his lease truck sold out from under him. It does happen.

Comparing stevens to a dedicated account is a very unfair comparision.

 

I used to do that before we had GPS and Smart phones! All we had was an atlas and an address!

 

Yes i Agree with you that comparing stevens to the job i have now at least money and time at home is varry unfair..i was trying to compair stevens to Knight..witch i think is varry fair..The only thing that Knight and Stevens has thats the same as Jb hunt at my job is trans flow..Stevens charges Knight and Jb hunt dont.. not that i trans flow any more but i did 1 or 2 times..

home time from Knight 7 to 10 days out 2 to 3 days off..witch was prity close normaly got home every outher weekend for a 3 day weekend.

stevens 1 week out 1 day off i got home about 1 time every 2 months...and every time was told we need you to pick this afier 3 or 4 days...

Stevens made me pay for almost every thing for the truck..IE push broom,load locks,meat lock. tire inflater.tire gage. as well as payed me varry little.

Knight Push broom.load locks straps tire inflater tire gage crow bar extra lights.and pad lock all were assigned to me for that truck,,all i had to do was turn them in with the truck and never payed a thing for them..

Knight i could do what the Allince drivers do at stevens with out the truck payment..Like Take the Truck and trailer home on time off or under a load..and some times if i wanted to go home when it was not my time to thay would run me by the house if i had time on the load...i could bob tail off the clock and unless you had a pm due on the truck thay would not jam you up on the yard...and lots of times when i was waiting for my truck thay would give me a lowner to do locals if i wanted to ...

stevens has forced dispatch...thay dont call it that but if you dont take the load thay give you thay make wish you did

Knight does not have forced dispatch...most of the time my DM would call me and ask me where i wanted to go and head me that way.. or tell me what he had for loads and ask me witch 1 i wanted...at knight you can refuse any load

Lol stevens i would ask my DM to head me some where and he would tell me he was not a travel agent..then head me the opposite way..

at stevens i lost money at Knight i made money...and talking to frends that are still at stevens it does not sound like mutch has changed in the 3 years i have been gone outher then now stevens will let you have a pre-pass in a company truck.. and would not surprise if thay charge for that 2..Knight gives it to you..or the truck that you are using..

i think thats a prity fair comparson.. and all that did happen to me and a lot more

 

Just a little FYI for those that don't know, the MAIN reason we are required to return to the yard every 90 days is for a maintenance/safety check on the equipment. Unfortunately, if left to their own devices, we would have too many drivers out there that would be running unsafe equipment!!!
