Make #### sure you use a 5th wheel lock if you leave it at the truckstop on us52, or any truckstop for that matter!

You should also remember that TMC will get you home on the weekends, but more than likely you are going to have a load on the trailer, so you are going to also need to account for the security of the load. So I would leave somewhere that is lit, and has other drivers around that would notice someone messing with your truck. You are the one responsible for that load until the receiver signs for it.

So essentially, it's something that's most likely frowned upon by the company yes?

You can do it, you just better not leave it in a bad part of town. I did it for years when I worked for a reefer outfit. Nobody ever messed with the trailer, but I still went and checked on it everyday it sat a truck stop to make sure it was fine. I haul oversize now, and the boss is 8 miles away so I just take it there, but you are going to have to decide what you want to do. I know CPAPE wants his trucks back at the yard if you live close, so it is all up to the company.

I'll be living 4 hours away unfortunately ... ... and not that close to a truck stop. hahaha. Well my issue doesn't seem to be getting any closer to being resolved. Bummer.

Is there a farm close by to where you live? If so, ask the farmer if you could park at his place when in for a small fee.

Why not move to Des Moines??? You can park the truck at their terminal, you'd be more likely to get home on weekends if you were headed to the home terminal area, and Minneapolis is only a short drive north to visit family and friends.

OR....just stay with your parents. Free rent, and usually food too, especially since your only going to be there on weekends. Just park it at the truckstop and have someone come get you. Shouldn't be that hard for 2 days

And just do you know, most companies consider "weekends off" getting home Friday night/Saturday morn and leaving back out as soon as your 34hr reset is up. So basically you'll get home Friday night and leave back out Sunday morning to make Monday AM delivery.
