Depends on how many are available at the moment. Can take a lot of time to find a flatbed trainer. I got lucky and found one in 4 days.
-
Are you AT Prime? If that's the case, they'll assign you one, and you'll be on your way at the end of the week. For reefer, anyway. Flatbed might take a while, and you *may* be better off getting your miles reefer-side while waiting for a FB trainer to come available.
-
Very true. Not as much team freight on the flatbed side. At least when I was with my trainer I didnt see as much. Course... Have done runs that were SUPPOSED to be on a team... If you want to go reefer, then just go reefer. Its not that hard to switch.
-
well i got a go on my medical work release headed back monday to get my trainer all set to go
-
Well this could be why its taking so long to find me a trainer. I'm going to call her tomorrow and ask her to change me to reefer. I'm ready to go out a.s.a.p. Can anyone tell me what I will need to take to training with me as far as paperwork? i.e ssn card, passport, etc?
-
No, I'm not at Prime. My recruiter was telling me it could take any where from 1-2 months or a couple of days for a trainer to become available.
-
Your recruiter will send you an email with a list of all the things you need. If you have a passport take it. You need a notarized copy of your birth certificate. And all the other usual stuff you need when starting a new job.Newtrucker83 Thanks this.

He doesn't have an orientation date yet. Gotta get through that stuff before they assign a trainer.
-
Usually helps if you're through orientation
