I ran IC for a year and a half running from Northern California to New Jersey. I always ran 70mph on cruise... I did great with fuel. actually better than cruise at 65mph. Yes, most trucks do not do great on fuel running that speed. Mine did and I know a few others do to. Not all trucks are alike. Different factors determine all this such as transmissions specs, engine, etc.
But anyways I would still like to know the answer about what the JCT trucks are governed at and my other questions. Thanks![]()

Depends on your idea of "great." -
O/O that lives in my neighborhood decided to try to save money on fuel. Got a 2009 T660, slowed down from avg 68mph to 60. Said he is putting at least an extra $350/week into his pocket. I don't know about you, but if someone paid ME an extra $1400+ per month to slow down, I'd probably give it a shot.
RizenPhoenix Thanks this. -
I do that very thing. My average over the last 6000 miles is 8.6 mpg. My fuel surcharge is almost paying for ALL my fuel right now. I go slower than 60 though. 53-55 generally.Jarhed1964 Thanks this.

That is absolutely awesome!!!! 8.6mpg is in the top 10% I'd bet!

Back in the day it was 72, do you know the reason for the drop?

Perhaps to help operators save money on fuel.
