Finally flying out Sunday for a start with Roehl orientation at the Gary terminal on the 25th, long time coming! Not too worried about qualifying, I'm old but in good shape, lol! Was wondering if anyone else was going on the 25th, and, anybody been thru orientation for flatbed there? If so, what can I expect day to day? Thanks!

Hey congrats.. I am sitting here in Gary waiting on my trainer. I just completed the program. I was the oldest in my class and had no problems. So, the physical test is not hard. Actually they lowered the lat pull down to 80 lbs from 130. They will check your blood pressure before the test. The training staff is awesome and the area is not as bad as some make it out to be. Keep up with the home work, ask questions and have fun...

Thanks Bullhead, appreciate it! I'm 55 but in good shape, blood pressure a tad high but doc says no meds needed just watch the salt n exercise. I really wasn't worried about anything except maybe the tarp lift, how much those suckers weigh? Is everything done day 1 as far as the physical testing? I'm 5'9" and 190 lbs, played drums in clubs the last 30 years and nothing like 5-6 forty minute sets a night to get the heart rate up! I was also impressed that Roehl is flying me cause all my other pre hires sent u on the grey dog! Good luck with your trainer n keep in touch and fill me in on that! Thanks!

Hey man, i am 53 decent shape and have not smoke in over a year. I tell ya the heat has been the worst part of the whole thing. It was kinda fun keeping up or surpassing some of the xbox generation. The physical is done in the first morning. The tarp lift is nothing to worry about. You lift it off a table. If I recall my max heart beat was like 145 or so, the highest I recorded was 133. They test after each exercise. Make sure you drink a lot of water for the wiz quiz. They do not like it if your shy...

That's great your out with a trainer. I just got back to Gary and will be testing out. All I can say is be a sponge..absorb everything. My trainer was awesome. He was full of knowledge and had answers for all my questions. Unfortunately..., I did not always have answers for his questions. I also got some time in driving around the east coast. Them east coast drivers are nuts watch out. Good luck to ya..
