You liking things so far? Any regrets about Millis? After lots of research they seemed like the top choice by far when looking at company sponsored training. Seems like a quality company that operated quality equipment.

Things are great. We just brought another training truck down from Wisconsin, its VERY nice. You will not regret going to Millis, we have talked to probably 20 drivers and not one has anything bad to say. MANY MANY drivers have been here 10 plus years

If you can try to have your trainer use West Chicago for your testing, And set your appt. for a tuesday morning, The place is closed on Mondays so you can go there monday before and practice all day if you want. The Pretrip is a breeze also, Aside from the brake test, They will pick ONE part of the truck for your test.

I think I would rather take my chances at one of the more rural locations like Salem or Marion to avoid the stress of driving in the city. From the looks of it though I will probably be expected to test in East St. Louis since there is a drop yard or terminal (not sure which) in St. Louis.

Drop yard, and you can schedule it where ever for the most part, West Chicago you would just be under a load most likely.

I'm from Illinois and out with my trainer. I'm taking mine on July 6th in E St Louis. That very close to where I live. I figured I would do it there since I'm familiar with the streets and traffic flow for the most part. I'll give you the breakdown of how it goes afterward if you like and give you some sort of idea of what to expect.

West Chicago is a North west suburb, Not in the city of Chicago. Pretty much country roads. Which ever you all choose Good luck.
FYI this area has alot of our customers very close by and your test Will be under a empty trailer

That would be great. I live about an hour away from STL, and was leaning toward trying to test out at one of the more rural locations so I wouldn't have to deal with the city traffic. Will be great to get a heads up on what to expect though.

I see the policy is a one year contract to pay back school, but I thought that I read somewhere that you have to stay on for another 2 years to pay back the actual over the road training (2500) Is this accurate or is it just the one year commitment?

The total bill is $5000, if you stay a year they will forgive $2500. So that makes obviously $2500 left you have to pay back, Plus your hotel if you stayed there. When you get your own truck and are out on the road they start taking out $20 minimum a week to pay back the $2500. You have already paid in $500 so $2000/20=100 weeks. Thats where the "2 years" come in.
