and all hazmat loads must go through the scales even if they get a green light on the prepass!

It varies by state. Some require it, some don't. They usually have signs up saying if hazmat is required to pull in or not regardless of what pre pass says.

When I see you approaching in my rearviews... I'll be sure to slow down even more. Just for you. :pottytrain1:

Well if you dont want unnecessary hassle, slow down. Got pulled in to the truckee scales a while back. CHP said I was speeding, gave me a level 3 and sent me on my way.

My dad always told me to slow down 5 MPH because they can read your speed and even if your doing the speed limit they can still pull you in just to slow you down. Not sure how true that is, but I do it regardless. I got called into a CLOSED weigh station while empty on 78 going into TN and since I'm green I stopped anyways. Felt like an idoit but I didn't want them chasing me down.

I was taught to pull into a scale even if its closed if you get the red light on pre pass. Better safe than sorry
