This thread is yet another fine example of why I will never drive for a company that uses DAC. I realize that is a mighty bold statement but there are companies out there who don't use it. There is a shortage of drivers already,,,, and I believe in speaking with my wallet. If enough of us drivers refuse to go with these bottom feeder DAC lying companies it is the only way to starve them out of their bullying.
Now for the flames to come in![]()

DAC is a awesome system to keep real problem drivers out of the industry. Companies choose to abuse it.
-
Over the years DAC has saved me a few HEADACHES as what was listed on a few applicants was the actual truth , other times I likely lost a potential driver because of it
-
dac is bs imo just another bottom feeder tool to try and make indentured servants out of drivers just like the whole school scam and lease scams and on and on it goes real problem drivers weed themselves out and I have never cared what a history from the likes of USX or swift or any of the mega carriers had to sayHeWhoMustNotBeNamed Thanks this.

My best friend flunked out of their orientation. Think his heart rate was one beat too high to pass the physical.
They put a black mark on his DAC despite him never making it to the point of being an actual employee.
Told him to get it removed, but not sure if he ever followed through. -
Problem drivers do not weed themselves out. That's the problem. Without DAC then the guys who tear off doors, destroy equipment.... and... fail drug and alcohol tests.

I look at DAC as a credit report for professional drivers. Are there mistakes on a DAC? Yep, just like on a credit report. But overall it can you a good indicator of the quality of an individual driver.
It seems to me that many times drivers open themselves up to DAC problems (especially new drivers). How many times have we read threads here about a company putting something on a driver's DAC after quitting? Well, these new drivers quit without notice, leaving the truck somewhere not OK'd by the company, or they didn't follow through on their post training obligations. While not always fair, these drivers did open themselves up to this kind of abuse in the first place when a little pre-employment research would have led them to a better decision. -
The bottom line with this thread is to follow company policy to the letter even if/when you are quitting. If you don't, you're only screwing yourself so don't whine about it when it happens. And as a professional driver it's your job to know what the company policy is, and if you don't, ASK first.

As far as I'm concerned, if a company intentionally lied they would be faced with a lawsuit for harassment and any lost wages (due to lack of work from not getting rehired somewhere). -
They call the company Useless Express for a reason.
