DAC is like GPS: Use it as a tool....but don't stake your path on it, as it can be rife with errors, omissions, and downright untruths.

Nice in theory and always wise to try and do it that way but sometimes it dosn't work out. I quit Roehl Transport several years ago. I turned my truck into my home terminal that I was hired out of, based and dispatched out of and was listed as my home terminal on my records. The company, however, determined that they wanted the truck back in Gary, IN and told me that they would "find me a way home" and put a truck abandoned on my DAC if I didn't bring it back to that location. Needless to say I wasn't interested in driving all the way to Indiana and being stranded there. I turned it back into my home terminal and nothing came of it except it took a few months and the threat of a lawsuit to get my deposit back.

Check your DAC once a year just like all of your credit reports with the 3 majors and immediately correct any errors of information on them. Driving is your profession and not a hobby unless you have won the lottery and you should not take chances with it.

When you say you turned in your truck, did you turn it in where they told you to? I suspect there is more to the story. Abandoned under load doesn't necessarily mean you are loaded. It could also mean they gave you a load to pick up and you decided to just drive to the nearest terminal instead.
Drivers at USX get paid to recover a truck even if they are the ones going to be seated in it. I was paid to "recover" a brand new truck with 15 miles on it because I had to go to a different terminal (with a service center) to pick it up. How many companies pay you 150 bucks to ride a greyhound for a few hours to get to your truck? -
I dropped my Total truck off at a Arnold terminal when I quit. No abandonment on my dac

CSA scores will do that far more effectively.

DAC is a private ,non regulated , company . they can pretty much list anything a company says about you. haven't worked for a DAC company in 10 years after a having a false report put on buy a small fleet owner.
they were leased to Quality Carriers and were screwing with my pay. after I quit, QC asked for a "post employment" interview and I told them the whole story.(never had heard of post em. interview before or since). the fleet owner lost the contract and my DAC was screwed. -
That is hardcore....

I agree. DAC is just for pissed employers. USA Truck wants you to take your home time while under a load. That way you can't leave. You can't turn in your truck. They'll put load abandonment on your DAC. Bottom Feeders.

The pedals were sawed off?
Previous driver likely realized he would be hit with ABANDONING EQUIPMENT so he just want to make sure it was not STOLEN.
