It will be impossible unless you dad owns the company, no one would insure a newbie to haul fuel.

Try Schneider tanker division which hauls fuel. No experience needed, just need to have graduated from a cdl school recently. That is what I am doing, I am close to graduating and I have a pre-hire with them which is a great company to get experience in the tanker fuel hauling.

Lol, you may pull a tanker after you spend time with your trainer, but I doubt you will be hauling fuel.

What state will you be hauling from??? I understand that there is housing shortage in the West Texas area that they haul out of.

FFE has an LTL division. When they hire you, you go through their school. With experience and an LTL committment you can cut their OTR requirement down to 3 weeks then go home to your LTL terminal and finish training there.

    Good luck.

ok I am in school, we had log book class friday and the instructor said that truck drivers get paid by aeronautical miles and not road miles, I believe she gave us false information and that you get paid by road miles, my question is do you get paid by aeronautical or raod miles as a truck driver?

The ones that lay the wood to you pay you from zip code to zip code, using the old house hold movers guide, the one that are more honest pay you pratical miles. All of which is bs, the congress need to change this horses and buggy crap, you should be paid on truck route gps miles. And if any one wants to pay you air miles tell the dumba** to put a couple of wings on the truck.

Well it seems to me that all rookies are due a hosing to some level if they want to drive trucks. The question is how bad will it be?
From what I have seem in here, smaller companies treat drivers better, but they don't offer newbies like me who want to driver tankers the training needed to be a tanker driver. Big companies have the training programs, but i need to be prepared to bend over a lot more. Looks like we have one of those catch 22 things here. And then there's those evil recruiters & dispatchers to deal with.

And then on top of all this, government regulations are hosing all truckers evenly. Have I pretty much got it?:biggrin_25519:
