Melton? I don't understand the secrecy, or why it would be "not right" to say who you work for. Who gives a f###. It was just a question. Sorry to have asked you the name of your company. Your on here knowing who everyone on here works for but your is some sort of national security. Ok I think thats dumb, but ok.
lonelyswmtrucker Thanks this. -
No, I dont think Im gonna quit TMC just yet. Actually, I need to quit whining about things. All in all, Ive had a good weekend. I spent almost 5 hours today cleaning, scrubbing, and rubbing on my "Dirty Skank." I polished the aluminum, that my friends is alot of work. I got to actually shampoo the carpet, Im real stoked about that, I ran it through the wash bay here at the terminal, did laundry, talked to alot of seazoned drivers, about various things. The past couple of weeks have neen rough on me, but I will take that all as a learning experience and try to turn it into good. As for rumors about TMC, I still think this is a stand up place. If you've always wanted to drive here, than come on.
And lastly, I received a surprise text from somebody that genuinely seems to care, you know who you are, and I thank you from my heart for your support. You guys have to understand, I have to totally learn a new career, as well as different ways to think my job here. I saw the shop take my trailer up a little while ago. Thats a good thing. It was scheduled for service at 0600. So hopefully when I get up in the morning, it will be ready and waiting on me. Keep posting guys, thats what this thread is for. PEACE!!!! -

Well what a Monday. I drove 163 miles today lol. I will not complain though. God is good. I was able to come home for the weekend and I delivered 20 minutes from the house this morning. However a truck broke down in that company's yard and I was unloaded from the street. About a hour and a half to unload 15 pallets. I sent in my empty at 0730 cst and waited another 2 hours for a load. I thought for sure I would go to the steel mill but nope. Home Depot DC. Got there a few minutes later and at this time only had 45 minutes of driving time for the day. started early also so 7pm was the end of my 14. I was there at 0930 and did not leave until 3pm. My fuel stop is in Mebane, NC and so I shut it down here for the night. I contacted my FM and had delivery time pushed back. I have no idea why it was for 0400 but I was told at the DC that no one would be there till 0600. Any who, down for my 10 and got about 3 hours to drive tomorrow. I have a preplan for a lumber run into Maryland. Under 300 miles and no tarp. Should make it up tomorrow hopefully. Blind you are in my prayers brother.....promise that!

lol
I like Melton. I never worked for TMC, but from what I've learned from here and by talking to drivers, I'd say its about the same...maybe a little more laid back and not as strict when it comes to certain things, but pretty much equal. I've heard stories about drivers going in to DM with dirty cabs and such, and being asked to clean out the trucks. I don't know if thats true, or just driver talk tho... I do know that when you go to our Laredo yard, if your cab is visibly trashy (things on dash, for example), you will be shut down for 24 hours and made to clean up (not clean out lol) your truck. As far as the operations aspect goes, Melton is a 1 day home per week out company, and I think their minimum is 2 weeks out. I didn't really pay attention while they were explaining this, because I don't stay out less than a month and a half. I usually get decent miles every week, and have only had a handful of checks less than $500. I'd say my average take home is 650-900. I think it's really easy to make it here, as long as you're willing to do the work, and I can only assume that it would be the same at TMC -
