I think I'm writing an email to the top. Just picked up another trailer with problems. This is fifth trailer in a row that I have to take into a shop and lose money on. It's getting out of hand...

 

Well, I sent an email to start the chain up. I sent it to Josh first. He said he will look into the trailer breakdown concerns and will follow up with me tomorrow. I hope he does call so I can give some suggestions to climb up the ladder to do something about this driver neglect problem. Drivers shouldn't leave notes with the problems stating they didn't have time to repair the trailers. They should fix them and then drop them, or contact breakdown that they had to drop it with these problems so they could be repaired before the next driver picks them up. I've lost at least $700 in revenue over the last two Weeks alone because of sitting in shops getting repairs done. It shouldn't be this way.

I'm glad he responded while not in the office. That shows something to me. Now let's see what can be done.

 

I thought about washing my truck, but with that big storm down in Florida, I decided to wait. I slept in here in Jackson since I'm low on hrs. I'll get to Brooksville and have about 7 hrs left on 70 and I'll only gain 1.75 tomorrow. I get a full 10 hrs Wed so I'm trying to save some hrs to still run without reseting. I figured if I ease today, I can run hard the rest of the week until Friday night when I go home. I hope my plan works.

 

DM said freight is slow coming out of Florida because of storm. All the paper recycling is halted. Expect either water or long deadheads...

 

Deadheading to Albany then going to Monroe. Won't be ready until tomorrow. Ran into another Link, he's deadheading from Miami to Lee and going to Bessemer.

Roads here are not good. Several times I felt like I was driving through a lake. Water got as high as steps on US 301. Lots of rain and wind...

There's a rumor going around that Eleets Trucking out of Jacksonville,FL has bought Link America out. I've heard from two of their drivers. I don't know how true it is but last time I heard a rumor like this was when Schneider bought out Maverick..
