I think you forgot a Little somthing...EVERY TIME I HIT THE YARD @ STEVENS MY TRUCK GOT A SAFETY CHECK...I had to run it through the safety lane even if i just stoped for fuel...so its not just 90 days..Plus Stevens would make me see a lot of difrent of Departments..fuel..safety...complince...driver services..workshops..ect..ect...so that being said you could be on the yard 4 days prior to your 90 day safety talk..jump through all the stevens hoops ie run truck through the safety lane...do yr work shop...see all the difrent departments and like me it took so long that i got a 34 hour reset...just to come back and do it all over agen 4 days latter...minus the work shop maybe..Oh and almost forgot THAY DONT PAY YOU A DIME TO DO ALL THAT... and also expect you to be on line 4!!!!! it broke down like this for me even if i was under a load
step 1 check in at guard shack..
step 2 run truck and trailer through safety lane..
step 3 drop trailer
step 4 if trailer was loaded turn paper work in and start on the list the guard gave you if the department is open..if its not??? waightfor it to be/move down the list
step 5 once the list the gaurd gave you is complete go se the service guy and let him know so if thay found any thing that was wrong with yr truck NOW thay will start working on it...This was the part i would get a room cuz its going to be a wile....and if you dont get a room be ready too get woke up and get out of yr truck so thay can work on it....thats why i would get a room..also pray to whatever god you pray to that somthing does not pop up on the list that you thought was complete outher wise thay may stop work on yr truck till its taken care of..
once your list is complete and your truck is rdy now you get to waite for a load... and if you were under a load when you came in???? unless it had 3 extra days on it some 1 else got it....
NOW TO ME THATS A LITTLE RIDICULOUS FOR A FUEL STOP...most the time i was there for 3 or so days..and like i said not 1 dime was paid to me -
Those of us that have been around the block know to NEVER go into the yard unless it was for the 90 day stop.
There are plenty of other places nearby to buy fuel.
And if it's taking you so long to get off the yard each time, you aren't trying. I'm seldom there longer than two days. Often I'm out the same day I'm in.TRKRSHONEY Thanks this. -
Lol yep i guess if you stay there for a while you would not do what your boss tells to do..???
like 3 days is SOOOOOO mutch longet then 2!!!!!
BRO let me help you out ITS NOT NORMAL TO BE STUCK ON A YARD !!!!!!! not for 2 days not for 3 days or 4 days...
when i worked for Knight and my truck was being worked on thay would loan me a truck so i could do local deliveries and make money while i waited..and thos payed me 15$ an hour .. with JB HUNT thay put me in a loaner to do my normal routes..so i dont miss a beat... -
Dont forget about training taking your truck (at least on the company side) and using it. I wouldnt had minded if people could tell you where it was but no one could. Almost every time that I hit the yard I spend at least 2 hours walking the entire yard including the hill and across the street looking for my truck. I would ask the trainers if they had my truck and they would always say no. Most of the time I would eventually find it hidden behind some trailers across the street. One day I saw Ed get out of a truck from a distance and ask if he had seen mine. He told me no. After I went to the truck that he had just got out of I saw that it was MY truck! -
Ed's retired now. So it's safe to come back.

Nobody that knew anything about Stevens ever fueled on the yard. Even when they said to.
And the ONLY part you are required to log on line 4 is safety and medical, fuel, everything else you are off duty.
And if you have been on the yard in the last 7 days, your driver manager can defer the entire list, and get you a gate pass.
And the service of the truck NO longer starts after you the driver are clear, the so called priority list is historyTRKRSHONEY Thanks this. -
lol FORGIVE ME i forgot about that....1 thing i did to help that was use 1 of thos vicegrip cb antenna mounts off the mirror..but looking for a truck there was like looking for a needle in a stack of needles!!!! thats too funy tho i tottally for got about that and it realy sucks when yr lugging a big bag around!!!!
-
Good place for him!
-
May be that part has gotten better????as far as the logging line 4..cuz 3 years ago i use to get in truble with complince due to refusing to log line 4 while doing my laundry list of stuff for stevens....if i am not getting paid i wont wast my time..and if you have a good driver mgr he can i had Jay jones and he was not varry good...so yes he made me come in even if it was for a fuel stop
so thats good thay work on the truck now wile yr getting cleard...still sucks jumping through thos hoops tho
