Stopped in Appleton for the night, had to get a light replaced on a trailer. Brand new East. Boards are still wood colored.

Headed to Elkhart, IN for tomorrow.

At the pilot in ga on i75 exit 296.

Delivered to my customer and guess what, these curtain side trailers are like twice the work as a flatbed. I got extremely lucky though. The customer had an empty flat, brand new east trailer. I asked them if they needed it, he said no. So i asked if i could swap them out, he said he was fine with it. So score on my part, I got me a new trailer.

Sent my empty call and got a load picking up from gp in Madison. Going down to Florida, so that's my ticket home woo hoo!!! I love those plywood loads

Down in Jackson TN, load in the a.m. and head for Iowa. Got a message today my FM is gone, I am now on my 6th FM in a year. Guess we will see if my miles pick up or not. Little nervous about a new FM. I liked my old one, didn't try to hold my hand just answered any questions and straighted out any office errors.

Mostly dry van grocery loads for lumpers. Most of the time live unloads have company personnel. Grocery and some warehouses use labor company to unload their freight.

Think I'm going to hang up the training shoes after this student. Just not enjoying it. Good student, don't get me wrong. I do have some other complaints related to training in general, but I'm not going to post them.

depends on the truck, most all of us can pick up 48k without thinking about weight. 50k, and you need to start paying attention. I could put 52k on mine, with an east trailer, but I prolly wouldn't be able to relay it to anyone.

unless this is the intro to a joke, like "how many Roehl drivers does it take to replace a headlight? Answer: Sorry, headlights are too far out of route for you, just wait till daylight, and drive then.

At the sky hook on 75 exit 2 in ga. Was gonna head further south but everyone northbound said southbound is backed up at i10 because of a truck roll over.

    So i stopped here.

I've had a horrible day though. First was getting to my customer and having to wait 2 hours before getting loaded. I'm normally in and out of that place but oh well. I get loaded and start tarping, then the forklift driver comes by and tells me to move my truck outside after I get the tarp on. Okay no big deal, 3 other trucks were waiting to get in to get loaded.

So i pull out and the wind is so bad it took me and another driver just to get a steel tarp to stay on right. I had to end up using 2 steel tarps and one lumber, I messed up though, I shoulda just used both lumber tarps. Oh well. Now I have the worst looking tarp job ever.

But all that's not the worst part. I send a message to Dispatch asking if i can push the delivery date back from tomorrow to Thursday. It was 700+ loaded miles, Madison, GA to Big Pine Key, FL.

Dispatch sends back "it can be changed, but there's no money in dragging your feet"

    Yeah........

So needless to say I'm delivering Thursday, I know some of the roads in Florida are shut down due to flooding, I'm on my way home and almost wanted to just drive the truck home...but saner heads prevailed and i decided not to let it get to me though.

Although I'm counting down every day to my year mark.... lol
