I don't see any problems driving 75, I see more dangerous idiots on the hiway driving slower, when I go to the Florida panhandel I'm usually driving around 80 and sometimes faster and I can't keep count of the 18 wheelers tha pass me in only a few minutes.
Oh by the way my truck is limited at 100 I still don't like it.

Funny how 75-80 is just crazy lol I use to drive 75 when I was a o/o running Florida hell if you weren't doing 75 in south Carolina you'd get run over by all the reefer trailers these rookies make me laugh shame what's become of this industry.so what if he wants to take off the governor why you guys blasting him that's the first thing I would've did when I bought the truck

Not really, you have to figure in the lawyer liability fudge factor.
So, what in your opinion is too fast for a truck on an empty straight line Interstate? -
So many people have no idea of what used to be commonplace years ago with much older technology... now some "good samatarian" driver would snitch you off and think he did a good deed. -
See trucks that are governed in the 60's cause the worst kind of wrecks and i just want to get away from them.. I got it turned up and im still getting passed so go get those truckers

it is amazing that the op merely asked about how to get his top speed turned up and then ALL the thread hijackers chime in w/their opinions on speed and speed limits and whatever. They are so miserable in their slow arse trucks that they have to spread that misery by hijacking a thread that has nothing to do with them.
when i first got my truck,it was set at 72 but man,i had to be bobtail and downhill to hit it.when i had the time,i went to some pa frieghtliner dealer and the whiz kid took the progressive shift out of it and we went over all the other parameters to fit MY wants, not what i would need in most drivers eyes.anyway,i went from 4.5 mpg to almost 6 for $45.00 because it took less than 30 minutes to hook it up and get'er done.best $45.00 ever spent.
the engine would rev to only 1800,barely, before, would not pull a sick ##### out of the bed, woulddrop from 70 to 45 on the slightest of grades, and sucked at fuel mileage. After the short visit,my truck turns 2275,per that shops computer and will run out of numbers and THEN some per an old gps that i hooked up to make sure my speedometer was accurate after going from lo pro 22.5 to 11r22.5 tires.i got all kinds of bang for my buck for that $45.00 that one day in pa.
* I DO NOT RUN A GPS and only did a for a week just to get off on what my truck would now do.it is a car gps anyway.amazing the difference. -
In my 4 and a half years of trucking i've learned to never go to a freightliner dealer/ shop they do a horrible job for a horrible price.
