Husband/Wife Team to start with Covenant

Well this is a first... Feeling sick while on the truck. We have been so blessed up until last night.
I started feeling feverish and nausea and then the inevitable to follow. ugggg!
Hate to say it out loud, but I think it is the flu.
Not quite sure how to handle this.

 

Most thankful double yellow! This has definitely NOT been the nicest conditions to be ill. Really prefer to hurl in private, but on a truck, that is not often an option. Well, like anything else NOT pleasant in life, we persevere.
Been drinking gatorade and water and eating saltine crackers. Fever seems to be subsiding. Hoping not to have to go to an Urgent Care. Sent my macro 39. Just hate sending those!
The whole reason we are out here is Miles. macro 39 = no miles.
Hoping tomorrow is a better day.

 

Just posting as we experience it. Trying to make it readable and enjoyable,
but 100% true experience.

 

Ouch rachi!! That is a miserable thought. I have tried to keep my distance from my husband,
but can't go too far in the truck. One thing I have done is use the antibacterial wipes
on everything I touch. Another thing good to do even on a daily basis is
use hand sanitizer each time we get back in the truck.
I would hate to even estimate how many hands touch the truck stop door handles each day!
That's a lot of shared cooties!

 

Wheww!! Finally feeling like myself again.
Boy my heart goes out to all the drivers who fall ill out on the road.
So good to have a team partner who is kind and supportive. (and tolerant)
On another note...
While at one of the only Pilots in Washington,
we encountered our second glimpse of the illusive Lot Lizzard.
She was really working the lot! Every time she would appear from between the trucks, she would be wearing a different outfit. While waddling about smoking her cigarettes, she would do a little hair toss and try to make eye contact with various drivers. I was amazed at her tenacity. When she came down the isle next to our truck, Ron did his best to look everywhere but out the window.
Evading the gaze of who he called "lotzilla".

 

Boy oh Boy!!! When it rains, it pours!
I noticed the air pressure dropping on the dash and then on came the lights and buzzer!
Immediately, I put on my flashers and started looking to pull off. Air pressure kept dropping.
All the way down to 35psi!
Apparently our guardian angel was with us, because I spotted a rest area sign just ahead.
There were five available truck spaces just waiting for us. We pulled right in and called breakdown.
What are the chances of that?!!

 

Well, as we expected... NOT a simple fix. The air compressor had to be replaced. We looked and listened. No leaks anywhere! Just consistant drop in pressure.
We are now sitting in a hotel in the VERY tan with a touch of tan Wyoming. Hopefully we will be back up and running tomorrow morning!
