Thank you ky1duck. Finally someone with a head on their shoulders. The guys ######## are the ones turning down loads. They think 1200 miles is 4 days is a better deal than 500 in a day. Makes no sense. I want more miles. well average 300 a day for 1200 miles or 500 a day based on the days not distance. No brainer. This company is pretty good to the drivers that want to turn their wheels. the rest are just lazy and ignorant people that ##### cause they cant run a truck to turn a buck.

300? 500? The majority of my runs were 950+ miles on average in a day and a half. Not 4 days. You don't sit on meat loads. Are you running midwest regional or something?

You can call someone else dumb, lazy and ignorant. I worked my butt off at the company with many 20 hour days and never turned down loads and never was late.

You don't know the whole story when they moved to E. Dub from S. Sioux City and lost all their good dispatchers, then hired an inexperienced staff that was totally green. My first two years there were great and the third year went to hell and not because of me.

    Many drivers with longevity left.

Logbooks meant nothing prior to 2011. That's why they are on EOBR's now and had to change their ways.

I'd say now 2.5 years later they are finally getting a little experience. We welcome fresh input of the NEW Hirschbach. The old ways you do not know. The new ways I learn from Meltom.

The owner still has a bad track record and snakes loom in upper management. You can't change that.

There is nowhere to go but up, Fatigued Driving Basic is dropping like a stone (granted a stone that was really high up, and there is an awful lot of friction slowing it down), starting to focus Unsafe Driving and using a bunch of really cool technology to track things (trying to tiptoe that line of proactive/harassment). Results have been pretty decent and we're even going to try using some of the technology to fight a ticket for a driver and in our DataQ challenge. So we're headed in the right direction, but have a long way to go.

LOL! New driver, responding to a 6 year old message. Go get some miles under your belt driver, and then come back and tell people they are lazy and ignorant. So, Mr Geeves, if things are so great at HersheySquirts The Duck from KY will be still there, making the big bucks and after 6 years I am sure he owns at least 6 trucks........

I'll bet ya money he is long gone......

I don't know how I missed this so many years ago.........In another post he claims he runs team with his wife. http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...rs-leasing-inc-sellersburg-in.html#post106508

A team truck should be rolling down the road 20 hours a day. A team truck should be used for mostly long runs. Look at his claimed miles, 4271. Too many for a single driver (legal) and at least 1500 miles short for a team. He claims $0.43 CPM but realistically his earnings (if he hasn't fudged his numbers) are $0.21 1/2 CPM.

Anybody wanna take bets ky1duck is a recruiter?

So yeah, mileage matters little to some drivers. If you get paid percentage, and some HML guys do, it's typically in your best interest to run a bunch of little short runs that pay well. Turn more load, earn more money. So once you figure out where your bread and butter is speak with dispatch, get on their good side and see what you can do to get more of the loads that treat you right.

Ok, so just in case anyone cares we didn't have much luck overturning the warning ticket....but that's not going to stop us from trying again. We'll just put more information out there and dig deeper. Bottom line is that if we feel we can prove you weren't in the wrong we'll exhaust all possibilities to try to prove your/our case.

Are you being serious bragging that 1100 or even 1600 a week take home is good? For a team? Sorry but at a real company you would net 3000+. I just quit working at Hirschbach and I can tell you any horror story you want to hear. Want to hear about kicking someone out of the truck with their kid and dog because the drivers DM lost his passenger form? Pushed out of the truck in Des Moines IA and told we will give you 1 bus tickect. Or that they resell a lease? or that you never get paid your layovers or detention. Home time, if the planners just so happen to have a load to get you home you can get there eventually but if they do not have a load you dont go home. Hirschbach is the most poorly managed company you will ever see. The foundations and principles are great but the management cannot deliver. Want a real treat? Have to interact with Dan W or Tom G, the equipment manager. Dan couldnt manage his way out of a closet. Working there you should have double what you make. I ran some authority drivers and they run the same miles as a team and they net 3500 or more after their expenses. If that little bit of money for a team is enough for you than you are in the right place. With the right driver manager a regular L/P driver can make that much money at HML.

I just quit working in dispatch at Hirschbach. There are snakes in whole company. I fired them and have never felt better. It would be great if they would give me the money they owe me but just like the drivers, I will NEVER see that. It is a set up to lock you into a lease and not get miles or go home. Your dm has to really care and like you in order to get miles/home. To many green over there. I myself was green just over 2 years in the industry but I went to another company and sat straight down and started planning. I had to learn the system and it was a go. I would urge anyone who actually wants a career to leave. I have done a lot of research about companies in this area. Right next door to their yard is a very attractive looking L/P program. Bottom line Hirschbach failed to give me my full paycheck and I see it happen to a minimum of 4-5 drivers every week. Once you say no to a load they will start with holding miles and you get the famous "starvation diet" this is not a joke. the boss over dispatch is the most ignorant, stupid telephone tough guy ever. Bad environment.

I actually just stood up in Hirschbach last week and walked out. I know this is dated but more than half of the office is trying to find a new job. Stay away from them if you want to make money. You see 2-3 people on here giving them positive comments. they have more than 500 drivers. Seems to me if you have over 500 people doing anything 2-3 of them will be happy and enjoy it. could even be shoveling poop. 2-3 will like it. what about the other 500? I have seen loads entered with fake appointment times just to get you to pick it up. Get a couple hundred miles away with that load and magically the appointment changes. once you are stuck under it.

Sorry but its not even the best lease in East Dubuque. You could throw a rock out of the drivers lounge window and hit a better lease.
