1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

I just graduated from truck driving school last week, June 21st and need to get on the road yesterday. Willing to drive dirt cheap and let you make all the money just for the additional training and experience. Looking to team OTR and need no home time. Im 43 years old, easy to get along with. A first job is hard to get without verifiable experience. If you can help me out and would like to talk further fell free to contact me at [email protected] or call me on my cell at 517-512-2089. I live in Holt Michigan. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

well I did attend a accredited school however because I have a felony that happened ten years ago but took two years to resolve it puts me out of the loop. Tons of companies willing to take me with just 2 to 6 months of experience. Getting that experience is the problem. The bottom feeder companies as you put it would make me work for dirt cheap so Im willing to do it for a decent O/O willing to help me get my wings.

I think you need to change your way of thinking. An O/O can screw you over just as well!

The schools teach you to pass the state exam and get a CDL . They don't qualify you to drive . That's why starter companies have trainers. You are nowhere near qualified to team . Start applying to starter companies .

Go to Swift. You'll get $450 a week training pay, then. 25¢/mi. Better than table scraps and it gets you experience. If it's as desperate as you say...that's a sweet deal

If he gets paid weekly, then the worst that can happen is that the o/o will end up owing him a week's pay. Besides, he'll have the truck!

Don't work cheap; you don't have to. Find an O/O that will pay you a flat percentage of what the truck earns. That's the route that I took fresh out of school.

During training, Prime pays $500 / week for orientation, then $600 / week or $0.12/mile after 2 weeks for 40K miles, then up to $0.46/mile (?) when you go solo in a lightweight truck on the northeast regional fleet.

You put that out there like it's something to behold. Give him the rest of the story. Tell how long Prime's training program is. Tell him what a Prime "lightweight" truck is. Not everyone wants a gutted, small sleeper truck. And also tell him why Northeast pays more. How much do you make at Prime as a non lease operator Midwest region, standard sleeper. OP is from Michigan.
