Some good insights there. Is it possible to apply at SLB in person? I was always under the impression that they along with Halliburton require you to apply online where you pretty much get lost in the shuffle. I know when I was in Red Deer back in October, I stopped by one of SLB's offices, but the door was locked so I slid a resume under the crack of the doors.

Red deer moved frac , but if you go to the yard off of 67th if i remember right , they used to have two yards one on the north and one on the south. The south side of the road is not slb anymore , show up after 8am ask someone to see a supervisor, talk with a supervisor (if they are getting ready for a job you might get 30 seconds) and make a good impression then give them your resume . This should help you get shortlisted if the supervisor likes you. Or if you know anyone there you can get them to reefer you and they will get a $500 finder fee. (hence talking to a supervisor:biggrin_25520:)

Wish I could give out names for you to talk to , but i cant and wont.

Yup, all true. Schlumberger (Dowell, then DS, back then) was where I started as an operator when I was 20; driving and operating a cement pumper, hauling bulk, doing acid jobs, N2, etc. Six months later I was supervising and two years after that I was supervising equipment manufacturing in Singapore, building a base in Oman, etc.

Got off the phone with trican( red deer) and they told me a class 3 driver would make around2730/month+ bonuses after they kicked in. Does this sound correct or is it too high or to low....I have no idea...also in my excitement of possibly getting a job in the oilfield I forgor to ask if that 2730/ month was gross or net...Any help would be helpful with my maybe taking a new job...Thanks Todd

Wow, not much to live on when bonuses are not being paid, like the last few months.

He would have a great oppertunity to get his class 1 through them and his wAge would go up. Depending on the service line he's working in, his Bonus's could be higher than wage.

    After taxes ? How many hr's ?

Either way it doesn't look like that truck is making a lot of money. A tanker working fairly steady should gross 40-50 a month and a lot more if your filling your log book up every day.
