I think it would help to calm down a little Blind. TMC is not testing you or anything like that. You have one of three kinds of fm. One is inexperienced two is dont give a crap and three would bend over backwards to do anything for you thats in his power(which you dont have). Now what I would do is call your team leader and forcefully not getting nasty, tell him your fm is not working with you so you're not working with him, so get me a new fm. Plain and simple. TMC is a great company I worked for and with them for 5-6 years before my wife dragged me away kicking and screaming the whole time. Its not TMC trust me. Ive had some of this happen to me but not to the extent that you are. Sometimes there's nothing anybody can do. I wanted to answer the O/O question in the post. I started as a Co driver but bought my own after about a yr may e less. They're record requirments are the same and they may have tractor requirements now but they pay 70% of the gross and you have the ability to move up like Co guys. They pay another 4% if you have your own trailer no forced dispatch and you usually get the choice of two or more loads. As long as u empty firzt thing in the am andstay in the freight lanes you will make good money. I took my expenses out every week including truck payment and usually cleared between 2500-3000 per week. Blind I could help you alot I think especially with time management so let me know. Keep at it. Switch fm's and remember get empty first thing all the good loads are on the board then. Plus if you're first you get first dibs.

Ive tried to replace my fm. Ive had several talks with the team leader. I dont notice a difference. Im trying to stay calm, level headed. Just as soon as I do, something else will happen. I was not prepared for the life as a truck driver. My driver trainer never mentioned any of what Ive been going through. As for 1st in line, thats easier said then done when you constantly run out of hours. For instance... Im in a rest area in Minnesota for my 10. I took my clock down to 10 minutes left. I still have approx 500 miles to drive. No matter how you slice that thats 10 hours of driving easy. My appointment is at 1400. My day starts at 0600. Tell me (1) how to be 1st and(2) how to make the appointment time. Ylu watch and see what happens... I will miss the appointment time, no fault of my own, I bet you they will make me sit on this load all weekend. Lets just see what happens. -
To further help folks understand whats been going on would require me to give more details of conversations that I have with my fm. I dont have the time or desire to sit and type all that junk out.
I promise you this though, Im trying hard to do this stuff right. Im not happy at all with how things work out every day. Somethings gotta give. Im just sayin. -
I can average 60 miles per hour in this truck. You just have to keep the door shut and continue running. When you stop to do load checks try and go for rest areas they are easier to get into and out of and it only takes 2 to 3 minutes to check your load. Remember if it only takes 7 minutes to do a load check and use the restroom, you can mark that has 15 minutes. Believe me I've legitimately run 670-680 miles in 11 hours. It take some time to figure it out and get use to everything. Crappy shippers in receivers are always a problem

melton used to have a picture of a "running rabbit" under the melton name on thier trucks. they had that for years and everyone knew them as running rabbit, really a loss to old time trucking they removed the rabbit
lonelyswmtrucker Thanks this. -
if you have to wait for five hrs to load or close to that why not make that part of your 10 sleep early and drive trough the night , could that work? maybe that could put you first in line. i do not know it was just a thought.
