Just got word today that the Governor announced a new crackdown on speeders on the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge between Lafayette and Baton Rouge. Any of you who travel the I-10 / I-12 Corridor throught Louisiana know the stretch or bridge that goes on for about 20 miles through the Atchafalaya Swamp Spillway. It gets heavily enforced. The entire bridge slows from 70 mph to 60 mph for cars and 55 mph for trucks. Trucks are limited to the right lane only. They did this over the years in response to the big firey, fatal wrecks that have occurred there for years. They just announced that there will be permenantly assigned officers to work the bridge and that fines will be $100 for every mile per hour over the posted speed limit. (ouch) :biggrin_25524:
Everytime I drive this bridge, the trucks are the ones watching the speed, but the 4 wheelers NEVER obey the limit. They drive in excess of 80 mph, like they're were playing a video game or something. Just thought I'd let everyone know.

They'll probably catch the wrong super 4 wheeler and it will end up in court.

What I meant by that was it is typical liberal fashion to try and take a "speed trap" ticket to court. Not that only liberals speed.

I know that. But in Spfld, they both are just as bad. Politics have no bearing. They both are abusers of the law and court.

Yeah, but in Springfield (I'm an IL native and former resident of 30+ years) even the conservatives are pretty liberal. Always have been. Thanks, Chicago.

Can't argue there. Too bad Chicago has to be the way it is.

Let the 4 wheelers (like me) get the tickets and you stay clean. While they are being pulled over, you laugh and say ha!ha! and tell them (under your breath) you shouldn't have passed me so quickly as I am obiding by the law :biggrin_2559:

It's called na na na na na na na na na na na na na na :biggrin_25523:
