Roehl Driver Check In

It's sad to say, but there have been quite a few drivers from here who have recently jumped ship. Not sure if its cyclical or just an everyday thing, but it is quite sad. That's trucking for you... Newbies be forwarned!

 

I'm still here. I have tried the rest and keep coming back to Roehl. Anyway, I enjoyed my 8 days off, (What the hell is up with that? 8 days? I think I forgot how to shift and my driveway is sinking now from having the truck parked on it for so long!), and now I'm stopped for the night at the Pilot in Colby, KS. They used to have a Wendy's here and now it's a Subway. I did a double take and had to think real hard about where I was. I asked the desk girl and she said they changed it about a month ago. I wonder why they changed it? The Wendy's always had business and it was nice to have something besides Subway. Oh well. I relay this load in Kansas City tomorrow. A quick 6 hour drive. I wonder if they have something lined up for me or if I'm going to be marooned at the KS City drop yard.

 

We never needed 16 chains just 16 binders. The customer that required the 16 binders only needs 8 chains to secure the load. It was four units secured on each corner.

 

At the yard in Mogadore. Today is a day I should have stayed at a TA or Petro. I was doing a walk around after I shut down I noticed oil under the engine. Called maintenance told me it is probably the lines. Well I hope that is all it is because I have to deliver about 180 miles away by 1400 and I don't start my day until 0830. The kicker to all of this is I already a pre plan going to Paris, TX. I sure don't want to lose that.

 

At a repair shop in Akron getting the oil leak taken care of. I have been here since 0930. In short I had to relay the load I had and I lost my run to Texas. It sucks but this is the way the industry work and I would rather have this taken care of instead of getting hemmed up by the DOT for oil leaking from the truck.

At the Kansas City drop yard. Waiting for a load. Because it's so hot, the truck idles. Nice! 105 degrees outside, 65 degrees inside. Sweet!
