Sorry to hear that, KW... I hope you find a better employer quickly, and earn their respect by the integrity you have already shown.

It's too bad your previous employer would risk not only his business, but the livelihood of all his employees for a small profit (or any amount, for that matter). Carefully consider revealing the company here so others can avoid them.

I have a 19 inch sanyo bungeed into the space for a smaller TV it is a little bit tight but it does fit mostly.I run it off my 2500 watt inverter(maverick will only install a 1000 watt or larger inverter and you have to use there harness 185.00$) but there is a 12 volt outlet back there so you could run it off that if you wanted.

Maverick has a cable running to the antenna on the passenger side mirror. The antenna reception varies depending on where I am at sometimes it is great but mostly it is a little fuzzy.MY sanyo TV has a search button on the remote so anytime I want to watch TV I just push the search on the setup menu and it seeks out all the local stations. That is all I can think off if you have an other questions feel free to ask me.Hope that helps.Later:iroc:

Being in Newcastle PA you are close to a bunch of large trucking outfits. Have you talked to them about a job?
You did the right thing. That should count for something.

A huge thanks to daytona45 for sharing your experience. I start school in two days and have read lots of new driver stories but this one has really helped me feel good about my decision to take up trucking.

I really hope you keep updating and this should be a must read for anyone looking to get into the business.

Just to clarify, fines for hazardous material violations range from $250 to $50,000 per violation. Definitely not something to take lightly.

It was Walter Inc. out of New Jersey. A small 5 truck company. We are looking into several companies. We intend to pursue this, and hopefully DOT will shut them down. Thanks for all the advice, being a Truckers kid, I have trumendious respect for the industry and most of all, the truckers. I am going to school after the begining of the year so we can team. I want to drive...not just ride. It was a container load with 1,000 pounds over weight on rear tandums

So as I am coming in the little rock yard Friday I notice that when the truck goes into second gear there is a very loud clank. So I write the truck up. Well it must of been more serious then I realized because now the truck is at freightliner getting repaired and I am sitting here going stir crazy. Not that I dint like being at home because I do but I am use to starting my work week on Sunday with a couple of hours of driving and it just feels odd like I am not making any money.

I don't think I like coming home empty.Vicky is torturing me by making me put up the Christmas decorations early .I don't like doing it till Thanksgiving but who knows when I will have time like this again.I checked in with the weekend dispatcher to make sure they didn't have me down for a load.I don't think the maintenance shop talks to the dispatchers I don't know why they don't especially if they take a truck out of service but they don't. So I guess I will call my dispatcher at 8 am when he comes in to see what to do.Merry Christmas(BLAH):iroc:

I have been lurking around here for quite some time. I've read through probably this entire forum, and am going to pull the trigger. I have read this entire post, by the way Daytona great job, and it has really fueled my desire to drive. Dad was a driver part time and I loved it when he let me go with him. I got licensed on anything that I could get behind the wheel of while in the USAF, and I have worked in this ###### factory for far too long.

After reading about all of you, and seeing that allot of you are around my age, I figure what is stopping me.

I have no delusions of some romantic "life on the road" scenario and I have my eyes wide open. But I am going to do it. And I will make it.

    Thank you all
