Maybe we should stop this "mine is bigger then yours" confrontations when it comes to US conventional trucks and the Euro COE trucks. I'm really getting tired of this oh, so so tired argument, if it's American it's gotta be "big" and thus "the best". I am an American, I live here in the US and I hear this kinda thing all the time from people here. Maybe we sould change our attitude a little bit and learn to respect other people as we'd like to be respected.
When I compare the US and Euro trucks I make informed comments based on experience with both products. I'm well experienced with trucks and transportation equipment on both continents going all the way back to the 1970's.
About 99% of Americans expressing negative comments about Euro trucks have never experienced one and never seen one in any other circumstance other then in pictures and YouTube videos. That's precisely why I get pissed off whenever I encounter this kind of an attitude. In retrospect, I don't heare from Americans that have had experience with Euro trucks and equipment making crappy comments about them.
Funny thing! I don't see Europeans making too many negative comments on the American trucks. At least, unlike the americans, they know not to engage in making comments about something they know very little about. The ones that are making comments are surprisingly very informed and usually "on the money".
Regardless on which side of the pond we happen to be living, if we make a living driving and/or operating trucks, well then, we're part of the same brotherhood.Scania man, sdaniel and jardel Thank this. -
I have a question for the Euro colleagues:
Scania, Volvo and Iveco offered conventional (with hood/bonnet) trucks.
Do the conventional trucks have a 4 point cab suspension, or that's an option for the COE trucks only? -
InTranzit,out off the 3 you stated,only 1 remains.
Iveco
which is basicly a COE with the cab set back and a hood thrown on.
It is an Australian design which isn't imported by Iveco.
It is being imported by a Dutch dealer.
Scania has ended hoods from several years.
Again not a purpose build hood but a COE with the cab behind the engine.
Last series was the T which was a hard ride(evendough it had a longer wheelbase)
The Volvo's have also ended and few years ago and they weren't even EU build(came from Brazil)
EU Volvo hoods ended when the N series ended.
The Bazilian ones were the NH.
An FH with the cab behind the engine.
So the last real hoods were in the 70's. -

this is collani truck his vision of trucks from future , actually brings more disadvantages comparing to normal trucks than advantages , they used to be based on mercedes chassis now they are on daf

i ask because here we dont have any t series only small number of 4series t cab -
Don't know about Volvo or Iveco I presume they did but Scania def had 4point cab suspension on theirs, looked like the bonnett was moving around outside the windscreen lol

Volvo cabover have 4 point cab suspention too with rear cab crossmember in old US cabovers style. usually front cab suspention is spring, rear - air bags.
Mercedes cab suspention differs a bit. Mercedes use fron air bags with megaspace cab
