i was told by a TMC driver that the company pays a bonus for call-ins reporting other driver's dirty trucks and so on. he said the bonus was $75.
was he telling me the truth? -
that's sad when a company wants u to tell on other drivers for a dirty truck, that is ridiculous; i doubt i could work for a company who would do that; but being tmc somehow it wouldn't surprise me if they did do that
-
You could never believe a call-in like that, people would do them just for personal gain of 75$ or to be an ### kisser...
I try like hell to keep my truck clean and shining but there's days toward the end of the week when i've been to alot of jobsites and it's all splattered with bugs, it happens...SHC Thanks this. -
They aren't nicknamed Too Much Chrome for any other reason...... worthless

Best drivers? Any company that takes students, is not going to have the best drivers. This goes for Roehl as well, not singling out TMC. How selective can you really be with a bunch of guys who have never driven?DrtyDiesel, Kash6972 and SHC Thank this.

Pretty good point. I have talked to TMC drivers and while I wouldn't mind getting paid % by them and driving a Pete, I wouldn't want a Company that has rules like they do ya know.Kash6972 Thanks this.

I have to agree with you. I like a clean truck but sometimes you can't get to it. So why should a company fire you for having a little mess. Just don't keep it like a pig sty then you should be all rite. That's how it should be.DrtyDiesel Thanks this.

I promise you they do not have the best drivers in their fleet. Most of the best are probably independent contractors. These are guys who worked their way up, probably did their time as company hands and eventually were able to purchase their own truck. To succeed they have to do it better than a company driver because they have skin in the game. I am not talking about lease ops, but true o/ops. Even if we are only talking company drivers, TMC does not employ the best drivers. I would say most of the best company drivers probably work at smaller companies that you have never heard of. They go where they are treated well, get real home time, and are paid well. Not to mention those that work in heavy haul and wind energy. TMC achieves the regard that they are very selective. TMC has some great drivers. So does Roehl. I would be very interested in hiring drivers that cut their teeth in either program. Just dont call them the best because they arent.Treefork Thanks this.

I've been with Roehl for about 3 months. I've washed my truck twice, and it's a pain in the butt! I couldn't imagine being required to clean it once a month. I have better things to do with my spare time.
